Jack's Granny is sick with a bad case of the moozles! And the only cure is the fruit of the fantastic flumflum tree which grows on the faraway Isle of Blowyernose. It's a perilous journey, but Jack bravely sets sail, with a motley crew of only three and a large patchwork sack that Granny has filled with an odd assortment of items from chewing-gum to tent pegs. But what use will they be against hungry sharks, a leaky boat and a thieving monkey ...?

My nan saw this book reviewed on the TV1 Good Morning Show last year and as i have a son named Jack thought it was appropriate as part of his Christmas gift. It is from the same author as 'The Gruffalo" so automatically im thinking it would be a great book!
The copy we have is hardback, but it is also available in paperback at a cheaper cost. Children's books can be expensive and i wouldn't pay the RRP of $28.99, but would look out for it on special!
The pictures are fantastic, my 4 year old loves them as i think they are in a similar style to a child's drawing (but of course drawn by a very talented illustrator!) The theme of 3 children on a boat just jumps into a child's imagination, so it is a great story.
It is funny and allows the children to use their imagination to think of the events that are taking place. It rhymes and repeats itself so the children know what is coming up.
Its a fantastic story and i hope that it becomes a hit like Julia Donaldson's other books!
