I haven't read the Harry Potter books, but I have seen the movies, and they were stunning enough to give me a keen interest in any 'reference' book relating to them.
Having a long-standing interest in the origins of myths and legends, religious icons and the like, I was really impressed by this paperback. For a small book, it carries a lot of detail and information.
As well as factual, easy-referenced information, it also contains some 'commentary' that may or may not be accurate, but is relevant and entertaining, giving the reader a thirst to investigate for themselves... which I always feel is an aspect of a truely great reference book. One should NEVER take only one viewpoint to be The One Truth...
Overall... I was really impressed. If I hadn't already promised this book to another, far more deserving, reviewer... I would happily have kept this as part of my Mythology reference library.
