OK, I thought the movies were cool on a number of levels. Great showcase for CGI movies, witty humour in many places, multi-layered for maximum fun for adults, while still fun for young'uns... but I wouldn't say I am a die-hard fan of Shrek.
That's why I wouldn't rate this book too highly. Sure, it introduces all the characters, and sure it's printed on full-colour-glossy stock, and is hardcover... but not really worth the lion's share of $50.
Overall, cute, but nothing worth hunting majorly. It'll be on the Warehouse shelves cheaper than that in the not-too-distant future. Sorry folks, but this one is just a bit overpriced for what it is... a kids amusement book. Maybe some stickers in the next one or something... interactive is the way to go.
