In 1999, at the age of twenty-two, Arabella Joseph suddenly found herself in a psychiatric hospital. An incident with a male colleague had precipitated a dramatic reminder of her past - a reminder of herself as an eleven-year-old girl who was sexually abused by her uncle.

Wow. Prepare to be severely disturbed (in a good way). This third person biography is raw, honest and shocking. Arabella's inner world as she goes through the traumas of reliving her childhood abuse is painfully real yet ultimately hopeful.
An excellent read for anyone studying clinical psychology or interested in what it is like, living with the shadow of something like that over your life. I appreciate the courage it took to tell this story and acknowledge the gift it represents to others in similar internal prisons. One of the biggest struggles Arabella went through was the belief that she was alone, that it was her inherent evil that caused such pain in her life, but knowing it happened to others was the beginning of her recovery.
If you're up to it, this one is definitely worth reading.
