We got this on DVD because we like Tim Allen and he usually does a good job (I was a big fan of Home Improvement), this movie though could have done with a little more work to it.
Jack was part of a team of superheroes, but when an experiment goes wrong he looses not only his other team-mates, but his brother and his superpowers all at the same time. Several years later, it is found that his brother is still alive (and still evil) and returning to our dimension and so Jack is brought back in to train a new team of superheroes.
The plot is ok but it wasn't that well written and half the time the script is slightly annoying and just a little too, well.... weak. The acting is fine but I would have expected more from actors like Rip Torn, Tim Allen and Courtney Cox. The special effects were good and looked realistic enough, making it flow well enough. As an adult this was OK the first time but since then it just doesn't bear watching. The kids however think it is a funny movie so it's getting its money's worth.
Fun once, more than that, not so much but at least the kids like it.

Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks. ... more...
