This was the first book by Koontz that I had read. I found myself drawn into the story nice and quickly. In saying that, however, I am glad that this was a 'spend $20 pick a book for free' deal, and not something that I paid for out of my own pocket.
It's a good story, and it's written well enough that you continue to want to read it. I got interested in the book enough, that it got enough attention from me that it was finished within 3 days. It had good characters and a decent plot line, that had enough twists and turns in it that you wanted to keep reading. I do recall, though, that there was one 'twist' that I saw coming from a mile away.
This was a great book by Koontz, and so far I have only read two others of his that I have enjoyed equally as much.
Another great book by Koontz.
As with his other books, Dean Koontz has the ability to suck you into a story and make you believe. Just when you think you have it figured out he puts a twist into the story to turn you on your ear and the a second one to make sure you're caught and keep reading.
If 'Life Expectancy' is the first Koontz book you've read then this book will make you want to read more.
Dean Koontz's books have a common theme through them and that is one of good over evil, angels and daemons and the survivability of the human spirit. be prepared to be rooting for the hero when he's down, booing the villain and holding your breath while waiting to read what happens next.
