As my young son had a birthday quickly approaching I was in desperate need of present ideas. I decided that maybe a quick browse through my local Warehouse store would help with my inspiration, however wandering through the aisles not much was catching my attention. Once I reached the toy vehicle aisle I was getting more excited. Finally I came across all the Tonka range and noticed the steel toys, there was a Front-Loader, Tow Truck, and a Dump Truck to choose from at the time. I decided my son would probably love the Dump Truck.

The thing that stood out with this truck straight away was the size of it. This truck is 50cm and I found it was just the right size for my 3 year old to push while running. He loves how large the back is so he can fit numerous toys or several shovel loads of gravel in it. Also with it being quite large he has decided it is just right to be a seat for watching tv hehe. The possible scenarios to play with it are endless.

Tonka is a well known brand and I remember having my own Tonka toys growing up. I love the fact this truck is made of steel as my three children tend to be rough with toys, so this gives peace of mind no little pieces of plastic will break and be where baby can get them. The steel is very durable and has already withstood several crashes into numerous concrete walls, with minimal damage. The wheels are plastic but it feels like a very strong, tough plastic which is perfect for all the off-road use it gets.

The Tonka Mightiest Dump Truck has another very appealing factor - it comes with a Lifetime Guarantee! This really appealed to me as I wanted a toy which would survive through all my children, especially at the price I paid. The Warehouse usually had them for $120 but they are constantly having specials and I got this for around $80. The old saying "you get what you pay for" springs to mind. We have now had the truck for 6 months and even though it gets used daily it still looks nearly new.

Overall I think that if you are wanting a fun toy that will survive whatever your child puts it through, this would be ideal. Whether it is played with inside or outside you know it has a lifetime guarantee. Team it up with the other vehicles in the series and your child will have hours of fun playing and using their imagination.
