"If you're cheeky and you know it" is a fun, energetic book to share with children. It is based on the vary familiar song "If you're happy and you know it". Children and adults all know what to expect out of the book.

I see that the book has previously been released as a CD and book set. This particular version is a hard covered board book. It is perfectly designed for little hands to enjoy and hold.

The illustrations are simply gorgeous and give an amazon life and energy to the book. Each character has its own personality and life. A wide range of colours have been used to make the illustrations interesting and fun for children to enjoy.

When I started to read the book, I found simply reading it was impossible. I just had to sing it. As soon as I started singing, my children's eyes lit up. After I sang the first line of each verse, the children quickly got the hang of it and joined in with me. Each page only has one line of the verse, however because we know the song, it is only natural that we had to sing the whole verse. The full song is in the back of the book. Miss 3 started giggling at me as I acted out a meerkat. She thought it was totally hilarious.

After the reading the book, Miss 3 picked the book up and started singing "if you're a hippo and you know it, wobble your rump". She thought it was funny. I think that this song will grace out house a lot in the coming day...or even weeks! She is also having fun making up her own verses to the song.

This would be a lovely book to use in Early Childhood or early primary school to get the children moving and energised ready for learning. It is fun and encourages movement and laughter. At $12, it makes a perfect present for friends and family. It is a delightful book and I will be considering if for future gifts.
