I let my kids have some input about what they get for their birthdays so I know that they will actually play with the toys. My 7 year old had a good look at all the Lego and debated the pros and cons for every single set available, multiple times before finally deciding to get this set. He asked the assistant what exactly is included in the set so he could make an informed choice.
He put the set together and played with it, he was the good guys and his younger brother was the robber and they played for ages and changed roles a few times and sometimes the robbers even helped the police. He has now added this to his other Lego sets to see how many other things he can build and combine into a mixed-up Legoland.
The price I thought was worth it, it was low enough for me not to think twice about it and he got hours of enjoyment from it and we are able to expand on it with other sets. There are a lot of small pieces so this is obviously not suited for young kids. I can join in on the fun and spend quality time with the kids.
