These are such a handy little baby item to have, and I would highly recommend to anyone with a little one, or due to have a wee baby.
I borrowed one of these from a friend to use before purchasing my own, as I loved it so much. My main concern was how sturdy it was, followed by how easy to clean, and also (having a baby in cloth nappies) if he would fit!! None of these things were an issue at all - the chair is fantastic.
The back is a good height - meaning babies learning to sit are supported well, and likewise the sides help support them, without hindering getting them in and out, or them reaching things. The tray is great for feeding, placing toys on - and as I discovered - holding feet still-ish when doing footprints on a canvas!
Ease of cleaning is a big thing when you have littlies - and the Bebe Pod is great. Easy to clean, and so can be used outside also - I take our little man out when hanging out washing, so he can be outside, without getting wet, and dirty on the muddy lawn we have at this time of year (winter).
I have found in the last few weeks that our little man can get himself out of it (he is 12 mths) - but with the tray on it is still fully usable and secure. I have never used it anywhere other than on the floor, and wouldn't recommend it, just in case, but always use common sense!!
I would totally recommend it this anyone that has a young child, portable, easy to clean, sturdy, and many uses!
We use these chairs at my work all the time for the children who aren't quite at that stage of sitting up by themselves unsupported. They have been designed that little bit bigger which is great because we have some children in cloth nappies, and there is plenty of room for the extra bulk. It is easy to plonk the babies into and grab them out of as well....we don't have to struggle getting them in and we can rest assured we aren't hurting them either...it is definitely not a tight squeeze.
There is a strap available to use for extra security so if baby is starting to move around a bit it adds that extra safety factor. The added bonus of this chair is it can be used outside as well it is perfect to use in the sandpit because the chair is easily cleaned and taken back inside again. It's portable so that makes it a great resource to have at home or in an early childhood centre.
The back is tall and this offers the baby support in their head area and the high sides supports their body but gives them enough movement that they can easily reach down and grab toys that are within reach. We have only used these chairs on the floor but if used on a dining chair as a booster as I have seen at friends houses and if the baby leans to one side the chair will tip so maybe better off using as a floor chair is better.
I would recommend it to anyone that has a young child, they are a very handy thing to have, portable and easy to clean which is great when you have young children you don't need that extra hassle of keeping things clean for your baby.
We bought one of these as a first high chair for my son. We had heard about bumbo seats and how they help children with learning to sit by themselves so had wanted to get one of them. When we were looking for a bumbo we saw this one and I liked it because of the attatchable toy so it can also be used as a seat for them to play in.
As a first highchair it was great as I could sit him in it and snap on the tray and it was a nice way to feed him with me sat in front of him on the floor. The tray nicely catches any of the drips and as they have placemats to pop on the tray it is real easy to clean as you simply take off the placemat and wash it off with a warm cloth. If you forget to put the placemat on it can be a bit more tricky as some bits can get stuck in the groove that is on the tray for attatching the toy.
I also used to sit my son it to play for a while. It was good to give him a bit of variety as he would have his tummy time and time laying on his back with a baby gym, time propped up with pillows and some time in the bebepod. He used to love sitting in the chair and spinning the toy around. He also enjoyed having toys that he could throw over the side.
When he got to the stage where he was a bit more active we had to stop using this, as he would try to lean out and end up tipping the chair over so it stopped being a safe place for him to sit. Although we were using it on the floor it would still hurt if he tipped out. So good for a first seat but I wouldn't recommend it for children over about 6 - 8 months.
