I bought this on a really good sale at Farmers so got it for around $60 so was stoked with that as woolen cot underlays are quite expensive. I liked this one as Fairydown is a good brand and it looked and felt lovely and soft and warm. The other thing that was so good about it was that it is reversible so you can use it all year round.
I haven't had to use a waterproof mattress protector yet as my boy just hasn't leaked out during the night so that has given me the ability to use a woolen underlay without worrying it will get wet. It has been great having it on the nice warm fleece size for the cooler winter's night plus it adds an extra layer of softness under the sheet. I quite often find my son has pulled the corner of the sheet down so he can feel the nice soft wool.
So easy to put on the mattress as it has an elasticated strap on each corner that you quite simply tuck under each corner of the mattress. It stays snuggly in place through the night so you don't get any uncomfortable bumpy bits which we all know are a pain to sleep on. I would love to have one of these on my own bed it looks so snuggly and comfortable!
