Make a Wish is a fantastic DVD! Although I am an avid fan of the original Hi-5 cast and production, I am happy to say that this DVD is a bit of a winner in our house. The digital technology has come a long way and the special effects and animation are amazing. This is more colourful and much better quality than the original episodes. The sets obviously are a lot more costly and I guess the result of being a highly successful franchise.
Obviously this DVD follows the typical Hi-5 format but I have to say this DVD seemed to have a bit more oomph in it, in that my girls actually get up off the couch and dance along. They loved the hip hop and have the routine down pat. They also like playing being a cicada. The overwhelming consensus is "cool". So much so that they want to watch it all the time.
Some of the songs are rehashed i.e. "Some Kind of Wonderful", but I guess if you have a string of winning songs under your belt then why not re use them? The DVD itself is packaged in a carry case with a holographic removable cover card which is pretty cool.
I can't really fault this aside from it not being the original cast!! Well done 10/10!
