I freely admit to NOT being a smarty-pants fancy-as wine drinker who can spout catch-phrases that make sense only to those equally snobby or dedicated to wines. Sorry, but that just isn't me at all. I am more your average family man who enjoys a glass of wine with a special meal, on a hot summer's evening out on the porch, or maybe with friends gathered around the sacrificial alter while charring some innocent steaks we hunted down in the wilds of the supermarket.

Here's my impression of a wine-snobs reaction to this piece of the vintner's art...

As you open the bottle you are greeted by a waft of fruit - something akin to nectarines and pineapple for me, but every nose is different so you may detect something different.

The first sip sits on your tongue with a smooth sweetness, and a slight sharpness hits you as it trickles to the back of your mouth. Swallow it, and then and you'll get a warmth start about half way down your throat as it heads south. A slight acid wash finish that disappears quickly leaving your tongue feeling clean and refreshed.

Overall, I found this very easy to sip away at, and unlike many wines I have tried, after 2 glasses I was happy to keep drinking. It was also very nice when used in cooking, though that really does seem like such a waste of a superb wine like this. Well worth trying, even if a little above my usual price range.
