The salon is situated in downtown Tauranga and it is in the ideal spot for that lunch time getaway. The salon does not have its own car park so being 10 min early for your appointment is essential for parking purposes.
Walking into the salon to make an appointment I was greeted by one of the beauticians in a friendly and helpful manner. The salon was well presented and clean and everyone acted in a professional manner.
I arrived 5 min early for my appointment and was asked to wait. The waiting area was comfortable and well stocked with magazines. The beautician lead me to the next area of the salon and asked me to remove my top, and gave me privacy to do so in my time. The one thing that was missing at this point was a dedicated area to put my clothing, I had to put my clothing on the floor and felt that it detracted some of the professionalism that I was met with up to this point. I would like to mention that I booked in for a chest wax. I was then asked to lie on the table while the beautician confirmed the treatment that I was after. She then continued to give the treatment in a professional manner and was friendly throughout. The treatment was a complete success and I was very happy with the end result.
The only thing that was missing was that the beautician did not mention any after care instructions that I should take, and she also did not attempt to add value to the treatment by offering products that would enhance the treatment.
Going to pay for the treatment was a little bit awkward as the point of sale system was not set up to cater for male clients and there was some confusion on how much to charge. I was charged $55 which i thought was a little on the high side as this type of treatment mormally varies between $35 and $45. The salon is advertised for Him and Her and it would be a good idea to have prices for both where it is applicable in the brochure to avoid confusion.
On the whole, the experience was good and the people were friendly and professional and I would recommend the salon any time.
