Review #1255 - Dated: 22nd of May, 2006 Author: Tucker |
Oh, for how many years did I abuse my face with cheap disposable razors, a 10-pack for under $5 seemed like the smart thing to do... then when I bought a winning scratchy ticket, I thought "Time to see what all the fuss is about..." so I went out and bought my first decent razor...
That was 2 years ago and I haven't looked back since. Over the last year or so, I have been able to try out some of the more 'modern' shaving utensils, but this one takes it's rightful place at the head of the pack.
Sure, the buzzing and gentle vibrations can take a bit of getting used to, but once you have set aside the utterly pointless fear of something bladed buzzing away at your cheek, you'll soon realise what a wonderful shaving tool this is.
With a disaster combination of tough course beard hair, and sensitive skin... well, let's just say I keep a cupboard full of salves, coagulant gels and non-alcohol-based astringents within reach when it's shaving times... or at least, I used to. Nowdays the cupboard is bare of such instruments of self-repair.
Overall, I found this unit provided me with the closest shave, with the least discomfort (sensitive skin, remember?) and by far the 'nicest' shaving experience I have had in many a year. Due to it's watertight design, I can even shave in the shower, saving me the discomfort of having to scald my hands washing the remaining shaving gel off. Now THAT's a real bonus!
