Review #22718 - Dated: 9th of April, 2023 Author: mizim |
I first heard about this game when I began looking at Kickstarter, wasn't sure about the website so missed out on backing it but eventually picked up a copy when it was on sale. Basically, you have a shelf and need to carefully stack the games on your shelf. Once you have selected your colour, you get eight character cards (initially you play with numbers 1-8 but once you know the game you can pick and choose from the others available), each one of which has a special ability that you can use to your advantage. The dice are your usual 1-6 but styalized so they look like boxes.
I found the theme very amusing, who hasn't had trouble trying to stack their many games. This game adds the challenge in that you can only stack from high to low, so if you end up stuck with the wrong dice, there isn't much you can but hope that your character card can help you. Turn order also changes each time, all based upon which character card you opted to use. This game doesn't make it to the table too often but when it does we enjoy the gameplay and the theme, always fun to see the different types of players on the cards.
