Review #16286 - Dated: 10th of June, 2016 Author: melissaandchloe |
As soon as we picked our review goodies up Miss 3 insisted that she have one of her books to read in the back seat on the drive home. Miss Molly was her picked and I could hear her telling me all about the story during the drive home, she was certainly engaged with this book and was loving reading it and looking at the pictures. Funnily enough one of the songs that she sings at daycare is called Miss Polly and so for some unknown reason she began telling me it was her Miss Polly book (I hadn't told her that the book was called Miss Molly). From all that I had heard from Miss 3 about the book it sounded like such a neat book which I was looking forward to reading to her once we arrived home.
I'm sure all parents can relate to Molly in the story, Molly has a performance and so needs to stay clean for the day which as everyone knows isn't an easy task for a young child, especially one such as Molly who loves to play in the rain, jump through the mud and eat ice creams! I know I certainly have a tough time keeping Miss 3 clean and tidy at times! Molly tries so hard to keep clean and does so well only getting a few muddy paw prints on her back right before the show but luckily no one notices! Miss 3 and I laughed and joked about this as only a few weeks ago she was going to a birthday party and insisted on wearing her rabbit party dress first thing in the morning, although the party wasn't until the afternoon promising me she would stay clean and tidy just like Molly had done.
The pictures in the book look to be done through the use of pencil sketches and also only feature a few other colours throughout the book, yellow, green, red and white which I found quite interesting and different as I am used to books being full of colour, these colours look as though they had perhaps been done through the use of a screen printer? The pictures were however gorgeous and very well done and really went with the story being told, they provided so much conversation for both myself and Miss 3 and we just loved looking at them together.
Such a neat book which has been loved by Miss 3 and all of the children at my daycare whom I have read it to, full of so many surprises and lots of opportunities for laughter as you never know what Molly is going to do next! Already a very loved book which i'm sure will be read again and again.
