When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor called a Jacket and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to be reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On his 158th iteration, he gets a message from a mysterious ally--the female soldier known as the Full Metal Bitch. Is she the key to Keiji's escape or his final death? Now a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise! |

I won tickets to 'Edge of Tomorrow' and also this Graphic Novel. As my husband is a huge comic book fan he quickly took it and read straight away. I only just found it and so last night read before I went to sleep. Firstly it must be stated I do not like comic books. Personally I am really happy I watched the movie before I read this as I would of been so lost. The premise is really easy, its Groundhog Day meets Spaceship Troopers - aliens attack and Keiji Kiriya is killed during combat only to wake the next day and fight again. I don't get comic books and the layout. Are you supposed to read sideways or up and down? Luckily some of the pages had arrows and they pointed the correct sequence which made it easier. I read the story and kept forgetting to keep looking at the pictures and would have to keep reminding myself to look them over. Visually the pictures where okay. The graphics are done by Lee Ferguson. The story itself was a tad confusing. The movie actually sticks really well with this comic. Only major difference is the lead characters in the comic where Japanese and American where as the movie is Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. My husband thinks this comic was fantastic and really easy to understand where as I differ but like I said before I just don't get comics........... |
