Utter nonsense. Total claptrap. Impossible claims. That was what, I admit, I was thinking BEFORE I read this book. However, after 10 weeks of comparing Ken's predictions against the actual weather, I have found myself quite impressed. Allowing a 2-3 day swing, the book is actually almost bang on. A few wrong estimates, but that's to be expected, is it not? Less than 3 days per month have been wrong so far. Not bad really... good enough to make broad plans from, such as camping, long travel drives, etc. However, even to my untrained eye, the isobaric maps are quite clearly off prediction, however the overall weather distribution is quite sound. A case of the ends being more important than the means. Overall, quite a handy book for those who need to know the broad scope of the upcoming weather weeks or even months in advance. |

Anonymous The previous reviewer was right with their initial comments: "Utter nonsense. Total claptrap. Impossible claims". They should have stopped there. Mr Ring's predictions are nothing more than guesses, and he fails to get it right when it really matters, eg extreme weather. With vague forecasts that equate to "Mainly dry, otherwise wet", you can achieve equally poor results in your own home by combining the newspaper's weather map and horoscope. Save your money. |
