In the comedy Daddy Day Care, two fathers lose their jobs in product development at a large food company and are forced to take their sons out of the exclusive Chapman Academy and become stay-at-home fathers. With no job possibilities on the horizon, the two dads open their own day care facility, "Daddy Day Care", and employ some fairly unconventional and side splitting methods of caring for children. As "Daddy Day Care" starts to catch on, it launches them into a highly comedic rivalry with Chapman Academy's tough-as-nails director... who has driven all previous competitors out of business.

Daddy day care is pretty much our favourite family movie.
Our family love the jokes and it seems every time we watch it (we own the DVD) we always laugh and even get new laughs. My girls are 9 and 14 and they now recite quotes from the movie quite regularly!
The movie plot is probably not that believable as the day to day thing, but lets face it most movies aren't. Two married men lose their jobs and after failing to find new work, they come up with the idea to start their own daycare in one man's home,
After a few hiccups, well real laughs, the daycare starts to chug along nicely until the nasty rival daycare run by the evil matronly Ms Harridon (Angelica Houston) gets annoyed her roll is dropping so sets about to sabotage the daddy daycare.
Her sabotage works and the daycare is shut down. The men (Eddie Murphy & Jeff Garlin) go back to the ruthless advertising profession but they soon realise what they've lost by not being with the kids, especially their won children. The day care starts up again in new premises and become the daycare to be at.
The laughs are very funny that cross the age groups of children to grandparents with ease. The quirky children in the movie really set this movie apart.
We recommend this movie to anyone, anytime as it is both hilarious and heart warming.

Daddy Day Care is a fun movie and whilst not something you could watch a hundred times it is still enjoyable the ninth or tenth time through.

When two fathers loose their job they decide to open up a day care centre in their own home, bringing in another former co-worker when they get too many children. Along the way they must learn to juggle their new roles, all the children and their various quirks (one goes anywhere but the toilet, one speaks only Klingon and another never takes off his Flash costume). With a small host of children supporting actors this must have been one hectic movie to film at times.

I love the fact that one child speaks nothing but Klingon and the only person who can communicate with him is the third person they brought on the job (and it was due to his fluency in Klingon), the Trekkie in me really liked his character. All the kids do a great job and bring a lot of fun to what could have been a dull and boring movie. The rivalry between Daddy Day Care and the one run by Anjelica Houston's character is fun, and makes it a good storyline.

A fun movie, and whilst nothing extraordinary it is one of the more tolerable Eddie Murphy movies I've seen.
