For as long as I can remember The Wiggles have been a part of television. Growing up in the 90's I was watching the original Wiggles - Anthony Field, Greg Page, Jeff Fatt and Murray Cook (there was Phillip Wilcher too but he only did one album and then left the group)
During the 90s was when quite a few of the songs on this DVD were first written and performed, the fact that they are still around is a true tribute to what great songs they are. Greg (yellow wiggle) had to leave The Wiggles due to illness sadly and he was replaced by Sam Moran.
Nowadays my children are growing up watching a new version of The Wiggles - Anthony, Simon, Lachy and Emma. Let's not forget Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus and of course Captain Feathersword.

Over the years The Wiggles have released an extensive amount of DVDs and CDs of their music which is aimed at young children, especially preschoolers.
I love that this DVD has been released as it has all the songs and videos that my children know and love best. Once the DVD is put on I can guarantee that they will be singing and dancing along for pretty much the whole time.

Favourite songs in this house are Hot Potato, Fruit Salad, Go Santa Go, and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing. The favourite video clips at the moment include Do The Propeller and Rock-A-Bye Your Bear which the children always copy the moves.

I highly recommend this DVD for young children who love singing and dancing as there is no doubt that they will not be able to stay sitting while watching it.

We love The Wiggles in our house and my girls have never questioned the changing cast but accepted that Greg, Sam and Emma are all yellow Wiggles. I think it has been more of an adjustment for the adults who have worried about how the change will affect the brand. I have loved seeing the original Wiggles make cameo appearances in the latest Wiggles' DVDs.

Hot Potatoes is a great mix of The Wiggles over the years. It is weighted more to the recent years but this is probably more to give a balance of the original, Sam and current eras. It isn't in chronological order but mixed which surprised me but flowed well. The cover says it contains new songs but these are ones that feature the new Wiggles and have all features in DVDs that were released in 2013.

Looking at the cover reminds me of the Brady Bunch and I suppose they are trying to portray the image of one big happy blended family. The DVD itself looks like a record (not that the kids would know what one is) which I thought was pretty cool. The narrations between the songs are done by the current Wiggles. Seeing some of the oldest footage made me realise how much of their lives The Wiggles had given to their coloured shirts. They all looked so youthful and the sets were so basic compared to today. There is a mixture of concert clips and preformed just for DVD songs. This made for a great variety.

Like any best of compilation you wonder why they included some songs and excluding others. I suppose what are my favourites may not be the ones The Wiggles themselves consider the best. I would have liked to see Where's Jeff?, Tazzie Devil and I'm a Scary Tiger which have been firm favourites with us. Maybe they will be in The Best of Volume Two as The Wiggles still have a lot of songs to sing.

If you were starting a Wiggles DVD collection (or wanting a Wiggles music for the car) this DVD or CD would be the one to buy as it has such a great mix. For us with a large collection of Wiggles DVDs there was only a couple of songs we didn't have in our collection, so although the kids loved watching it and I enjoyed analysing the evolution of The Wiggles, it was nothing new for us.
