Review #8401 - Dated: 11th of May, 2013 Author: flabbergastered |
I purchased this book while I was on a health kick....for two reasons....the healthy juice drinks I was buying at the gym started to add up and were getting way too expensive, so I decided to get this book and make them myself because it would be cheaper in the long run and a better investment in my health physically and financially.
After buying the book I tried out most of the juices within the book and I have several favorite juice recipes, and I was amazed at how easy the recipes were to follow and the ingredients, all the vegetables and fruits are easily accessible and when fresh fruits aren't available I could use canned fruit as well as frozen which is great.
I appreciated the nutritional analysis of every juice detailing the vitamin, mineral and calorie content, because when I needed to lose weight or increase a certain vitamin I could flip through the book and found the perfect juice recipe. There are juices that not only help with weight loss or vitamin replacement there are juices that combat ailments such as high blood pressure, asthma, as well as conditions such as insomnia and hangovers! There really is a juice for every
I was surprised that when I made the juices how the colours were so vibrant and looked even better I must say than the picture in the book....and they all tasted refreshing and man the flavours really were evident. Just the thing to whizz up after a workout or walk or have as a snack instead of a plain piece of fruit.
My book has been well used and I have bought 2 more juice books by Charmaine Yabsley and Amanda Cross regarding juice and they two have been well used. I have made the juices so many times that I know my favorite recipes off by heart now and I still enjoy a juice every now and then, and when I am on my exercise or weight loss buzz this book is the first thing I refer too.
