The "King of the Hill"... it is our most popular blend by far. When long time customers are asked how they use their Zesty they say "Oh, I just use it in everything!"

Leave your jar of Zesty Garlic on the bench, do not store it away, because it is just that useful.

Recently New Plymouth hosted the Cake and Craft Fair. I won tickets so while the girls where at school/kindy we decided to go and investigate what was on offer. It was same old same old until we stumbled across South Sea Enterprises table. There were a lot of herbs made into sauces. I spotted the Zesty Garlic Herb Blend and thought why not. I put some onto the spoon they had out and WOW taste explossion.

Now I love my garlic. Use it in almost every dish I make and my one constant complaint is I can not taste it. It is never very strong and so end of using more than I really need to. The rest of the family are always saying 'mum thats garlicy' and I am like 'really I can't taste it' well I could taste this! It definitely had that lemony taste to it but also the garlic.

I brought a 56gram container for $7.50 and images of baked potato rushed through my head. I brought some sour cream on the way home and quickly made it. I only had in the fridge for 30minutes and thought could of been my down fall but it wasn't as mind blowing as I had hoped. Neither of the girls where huge fans and I put it down to the sour cream.

I had another mind explossion and thought about using yoghurt instead. So I brought some and made up and put in the fridge. It tasted creamier. You get a recipe guide when you buy it and it suggests 2 teaspoons of the Zesty Garlic and 3/4 cup of the sour cream (yoghurt). Now as I have stated I love my garlic so I thought why not add couple of heaped teaspoons and didn't need heaps of the sauce so only used a little under half cup of the yoghurt. I put in the fridge and left for over 24hrs. Last night after girls had gone to bed my husband and I sat down to watch GOT and I got the chips and my garlic dip out. WOW is all I can say. I tasted the garlic and I still can today. WAY to much garlic....

This is great if you are a lover of garlic. But be warned a little does go a long way. This is going to be my new favourite cooking tool. But I might go a little lighter on my teaspoons.

This was amazing, and so versatile!

I started off using this by making a dip... unfortunately, I got distracted at a critical moment and read "tablespoon" instead of "teaspoon" and ended up making a dip nearly 3 times more potent than it should have been - enough that it left a burning taste on my tongue from the sharpness of the garlic. If nothing else, I learned two very important things in that split-second:
^- 1 - Be VERY careful to read the instructions and double-check them if any distraction occurs during use.^/
^- 2 - They really do use REAL ingredients in their mixes. No artificial flavourings here!^/

To solve the problem, I split the mix into three portions and tried a couple of different things:
^- 1 - Added another 2/3rds portion of sour cream that it would make the right mix. It tasted wonderful, as good as the sample I tried at the Craft Show where I first encountered these fine folks.^/
^- 2 - Added a hefty portion of plain mayonnaise instead of more sour cream. This also created a delightful dip, but with the addition of some grated cheese and a can of Tuna, made for a delightful variant to the [link^46^Tuna Munchie Mix^link] (Yes, it looks wacky, but it tastes devine!)^/
^- 3 - I made up some regular 'tradition onion soup and reduced cream' dip, and mixed it 2:1 ratio with this portion, and that added some real wow factor! This, I think, was my favourite dip ever!^/

Overall, this has to be some great stuff. I haven't explored even a small smattering of the possibilities my fertile mind has dreamt up, but I want to think on them a lot more, as my supply of this fine mix is very limited, and I don't want to waste it. One other thing I did try that panned out well, mixing a few teaspoons of this through some mashed potato - delightful!
