Boy Meets Girl. Boys Falls in Love. Girl Doesn't. In this quirky romantic comedy about love and fate, a young greeting card writer is hopelessly, helplessly searching for the girl of his dreams... and his new co-worker, Summer Finn, may just be 'the one.' But the 500 days of their offbeat relationship reveal (in no particular order) that the road to happiness can be unpredictable, uncontrollable - and unbelievably funny! DVD Special Features: • Lost Days of Summer: Deleted and Extended Scenes "This is not a love story, it's a story about love." |

I loved the shorts for this movie on the tele, and was determined to make it to the cinemas to see it, however i'm glad i missed it. First time viewing it was a let down. It's a neat storyline, however the chopping and changing of the days in the movie had me wondering where the heck i was. The movie was much better viewing the second time round, as i knew what was happening and what the plot was about. It states at the beginning of the movie that this is a movie about boy meets girl, but it is not a love story. That is exactly right. Instead this movie takes us through all the associated emotions during a relationship. From when it is fun at the beginning to when Summer (Zoeey Deschanel) tells Tom (Joseph Gordon Levitt) that she only wants things to be casual, she's not ready for a relationship, to where she completely breaks his heart (NO, I'M NOT GIVING AWAY THE ENDING COMPLETELY PEOPLE). In the movie there is Richard McGonagle who narrates from time to time to help the story mold together nicely. The story is very believable as it happens in everyday life around us and to us. It did give me the warm fuzzies at certain times, but not completely the whole way through. I feel that this movie will only be pulled out if there is nothing else better to watch. There was definitely humour throughout the movie as well. My favourite scene i must say was the big musical number after Tom and Summer had "sealed the deal" so to speak. Tom was very pleased and proud of himself. |
