I have tried the 'El Scorcho' and found it to be pretty much the same as this. The subtle flavours of the shredded cotto and the garlic were, in my opinion, overshadowed by the use of not only chilli flakes but also sliced chilli peppers.

I was left feeling, after only two pieces, that I would never be able to taste anything with a subtle flavour again.

In short, not really my thing and I doubt I will be going out of my way to repeat the experience.

Ai carumba, this is'a spicy and zingy, senor! Very similar to the El Scorcho, only with more attitude. ^:)

I've tried a few 'spicy' pizzas in my day, and generally they are simply a meaty pizza with a pile of chilli powder on top, or are drowned in so much jalapeno that you have to wonder if they are trying to burn your buds out or what...

This was a really nice change to that pattern. It had bite, it had zing, it had spice... but the burn wasn't there. It left my mouth with a really nice fuzzy glow, and my lips tingling, but after a few minutes that went away leaving only the flavour of cotto ham and a semi-sweet afterglow of the capsicum.

I was a little worried by the amount of jalapenos on the pizza, and admit I did pull a few off, but only because I didn't want to overload my tastebuds before I could get to the yummy-looking fudge brownies for dessert. -drool-

Overall, an excellent 'hot 'n' spicy' pizza without the overwhelming burn factor so common in such foods. I'm no lightweight when it comes to hot 'n' spicy, but I don't like to be burping flames all night either, so this was nigh on perfect for me.
