I sat down to watch this DVD with my husband, fully thinking he would leave within the first 10minutes and I would be left to it. Boy was I wrong - so this alone just goes to show that this movie captivates you from the start. Although he normally likes comedies I thought that being relationship-based this may be more of a girly flick but I was wrong on that count too and can definitely say it appeals to both genders.

The English Teacher - Linda - is a wonderful teacher that's for sure. But all things go a little bit pear shaped when she finally steps out of her comfort zone and lets go of her fears. Meeting up with an ex student they end up directing a play together at her school. She ends up getting into quite a bit of trouble with him and looses her job, a far cry from the character you meet when the movie first starts. There are many different relationships explored as his father becomes involved as well and seems to have a lot against Linda.

Filled with many laughs throughout the movie, this is sure to have you in a good mood and keep your attention throughout the entire movie. I think I really liked this movie because it actually seemed real - what happens in the movie could (and probably does) happen in our world as we know it. Being a teacher myself, I also related to the character as I definitely love my job although not to the extreme level that Linda does. LOL Icon

A good story line makes for a good movie was the comment my husband made to sum up the movie nicely. Definitely a movie we will be watching again and one that I recommend to others. Has an 'M' rating and I would agree with this and wouldn't let younger children watch due to the sex scenes and coarse language.
