Sodastream is something I remember very well from my childhood! And items like these bring back all the fun memories which seems to make them even more enjoyable to own as an adult! My husband and I purchased this machine as neither of us are big hot drink drinkers - he will have the odd coffee or hot chocolate, but I don't drink coffee at all and only have hot chocolate if it's cold! We were finding that we were drinking diet or no sugar drinks quite often and not only was it expensive, but you never do know quite what all the ingredients in them are. I am also mostly a non-alcoholic drinker so was always on the look out for something I could drink when our friends got together for a beer or two. Our soda stream has been fantastic! It is very easy to use and I like that you can get two different sized bottles.

One thing I like the most though is that you know there aren't as many nasties in the syrups than the pre-fizzed bottles of drink you can buy in the supermarkets and shops. My only criticism is that there needs to be more no sugar varieties - it would be great if all full sugar flavours were available in diet versions for those of use who choose not to drink sugary drinks.

I would highly recommend soda stream to anyone. The gas canisters are easy to get refills for - you can get them just at the supermarket when doing your weekly shopping! The flavours are available at a range of places and they all taste good!

Soda Stream makers, we all had one or knew some-one who had one when we were growing up as kids in the 80s. In my family it was the orange and cream one. A simple design with a lever on the side. Glass bottles with white screw on lids. Soda stream was cool! And now in 2014 we have a new and improved version for my kids to grow up with. By new and improved I mean a slightly more rounded design that looks fantastic with any decor, plastic bottles in varying sizes, soooo many more flavours, and no more side lever.

I remember as a kid, I loved soda stream but the machine actually scared me with its burping and farting and then its final gasp as you released the bottle and the gas escaped. Turns out not much has changed there. The burping and farting still make me uneasy even though I know the machine can not actually hurt me lol I just do not like the sounds it makes. I guess you could compare the uneasiness to blowing up a balloon and hoping it does not pop in your face because the popping sound always gives you a fright lol

The machine is easy to use. My kids have no problems using it and if a 1 litre bottle is used they can cap it and pop it in the fridge for later if unfinished. There are many many flavour optikns from colourless, diet, to sugar free and definitelt a flavour to suit every taste-bud. I love my machine. Its awesome. My only complaint is I really want a red one lol

I had always wanted a soda stream machine but just couldn't afford one so was so stoked when we won this machine in KIWIreviews birthday month competition! We now use it all the time and love how easy it is to use and how cheaply you can make tasty fizzy drinks in just a few seconds.

It was hillarious when we first used it as my partner put the bottle underneath the top and didn't realise you needed to screw it in so when he started giving it the gas the water went everywhere. Luckily for us he had read that you carbonated the water before adding the syrup so at least there wasn't a whole lot of sticky sweet drink to clean up! Once we figured out how to screw the bottle underneath we had our fizzy water in just a few seconds the first few times we gave it enough squirts of gas to make the machine 'fart' and let us know it was ready, but I have since experimented with the level of fizz.

I like the drinks better just lightly carbonated so find if I just give a few short boosts on the button it gives it a nice level of fizz which is a lot easier to drink than the really fizzy alternative. It is cool being able to choose to do this as when you buy pre made fizzy you don't get a choice and sometimes I find them far too gassy and they just give me heartburn. My 11 year old likes hers really fizzy so she will make her own bottle up to her taste!

The bottles are really easy to clean too, just a quick rinse with warm water (not hot) and they are all clean and ready to use again. The machine doesn't really need cleaning at all but I give it a quick wipe down every now and then to make sure it doesn't get a build up of dust. We haven't had to replace the gas bottle yet but have had a look and it seems pretty easy enough to do, so I would say we will have to do this over summer when we are drinking more cold drinks.

Again, thank you so much KIWIreviews and Sodastream NZ I love my new machine and I'm sure it is going to get lots and lots of use in our house as we find more and more yummy flavours to try!

I remember the good old sodastream machines from when I was a kid growing up and bought a newer machine a few years ago and man sodastream has improved heaps from what I remember...usually things are never as good as they were back in the day but sodastream has only gotten better. I love this machine because it takes the 1 litre bottle and the smaller 500ml bottle. Screwing the bottles into place is so easy and then unscrewing is hassle free and easy as well.

The push button to execute the gas is big enough to push easily with two fingers enabling the user to get a good blast of gas into the bottle. It may sound weird but I love the 'farting' sound that comes out when the right amount of gas is released into the water, and getting the machine to 'fart' lets me know that the bottle is ready to unscrew and add the syrup to the gassed up water.

I enjoy not having to lug home large bottles of fizz from the supermarket and enjoy only bringing home 1 or 2 bottles of syrup. I chose this sodastream machine because I like white appliances and this machine reminded me somewhat of the old machines, and I liked how it could fit the smaller or the larger gas bottles as well so depending on my budget I can choose more gas or less which is a bonus! Plus when it came to choosing my machine I liked this because it was cheaper than the deluxe models, but in my opinion this sodastream machine was nicer looking and I knew it would fit with my other benchtop appliances.....I like things to be matchy matchy! haha

I use my machine all the time and because of this it permanently lives on the bench where it is easily accessed. It is easy to wipe clean (well dust) as the machine itself doesn't get dirty! It is light lightweight so it is easy to move if I need the space on the bench, but sturdy enough to withstand a knock etc.

I recommend this sodastream machine, it is easy on the wallet to buy and would look good on anyone's kitchen, with the ease of use and nice shape it is just a winner in my book.
