Catch-a-Bubble product reviews

Catch-a-Bubble's amazing new solution produces thousands of bubbles that last for ages!

1 - Unscrew and raise wand. Blow through wand into the air to make bubbles.
2 - Wait a few seconds while the skin of the bubble hardens.
3 - Now you can catch-a-bubble.

NOTE: On hot, humid days, it may take a little longer for bubbles to harden.

We got some of this one summer day for a bit of fun. The wow factor on this is incredible. It works pretty well and the sight of our garden plants covered in delicate little bubbles was quite sweet. I could almost imagine using it as an instant decoration for a kid's party.

Catching the bubbles on your fingers and trying to then layer them upwards is addictive fun for young and old.

The solution is quite sticky though, and goes a bit like PVA on your fingers after a while. Unfortunately my daughter tipped it up on her a couple of times, which was a bit frustrating for her and me.

Otherwise was very happy with this cheap activity and the fun we managed to have with it.

A classic favourite from a few years back has made an excellent resurgence in popularity with a new generation of sprogs.

Blowing bubbles is all about fun... there isn't a lot a child will (knowingly) learn from a bubble, but they love them just the same. With a formula that hardens in contact with air, causing the delicate bubble to form a semi-rigid skin that allow them to stick to one other, all sorts of fun ideas are possible. Catch them as soon as you can after the skin loses it's colours, and they stick together amazingly well, letting you stack them up is a wonky column. How high can you stack them?

The formulation is complex, but the operation is simple... blow a bubble as normal, and watch the funky colour swirls on their skin. As soon as the colour fades, the bubble skins have hardened to the point where they won't pop on touch. This means that as they reach the end of their lifespan they shrivel up and collapse in on themselves. This will leave a small blob of opaque residue behind... if it's on your skin, no worries because it just rolls off easily... on clothes it could be a little tougher to remove, but it usually comes out in the wash. (Note: Some delicate fabrics may retain traces or outlines of the residue.)

My son managed to make a stack of 9 before it slowly and gracefully bent over and depressurised most of the supporting bubbles. This goal kept him happy and entertained for a good 45 minutes... we managed to milk another 30 minutes out of it when I joined the competition (and failed miserably with a best score of only 5)... after that the novelty wore off... until the next day when it was all fun and games again.

Overall, a very fun and dinky toy, perfect for those summer days outside when the wind is favourable... at the seasonal barbecues, set them loose in the back yard with a couple of tubes of this stuff, and you'll be set to argue out the rugby in peace for a good hour at least. Wink Icon

What can I say, all kids love bubbles, and I dare say most parents love blowing bubbles with their kids if only to see the pure joy on their faces and the sound of their laughter as they run around frantically trying to catch as many as they can.

I had seen these before a while ago and then they just disappeared, but I am very glad to see they have come back as they are so much fun.

The dispensing system is great and doesn't drip nearly as much as other more conventional bubble blowers.

With this I was able to keep my two boys busy for almost 90 minutes before they became bored, but as with all good toys, a couple of hours later it was bubble time again. This is a great way to spend time interacting with your kids and having some good ol' basic wholesome fun at the same time.

You expect bubbles to be kid's toys - and I guess they are supposed to be; but who cannot resist having a go at blowing bubbles? Not me - given any chance of blowing bubbles, I will.

The bubbles have moved on from the soapy water bubbles I had as a kid - blow the bubbles and the pop seconds later - but now having bubbles that will dry so you can catch them is seriously cool. Technology is a wonderful thing.

The price means that you can splash out on these Catch-a-Bubbles and not break the bank. Your little darling will feel really special showing these off around the school yard. You could even buy a stack of them to give away as prizes at a birthday party.

The best thing about giving kids bubbles, especially Catch-a-bubble is the peace and quiet....
