How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night product reviews

In a few simple lines of verse on each spread, fathers and mothers are ready to put their youngsters to bed. But in this book, the youngsters are a wide variety of dinosaurs. And how do dinosaurs say good night?

Filled with wonderful detail and humor, children and their parents will love the expressions and antics of the eleven different dinosaur children depicted here, and each species is spelled out somewhere in the young dinosaur's bedroom. In the end, young dinosaurs behave a lot like people do: They give a big kiss, turn out the light, tuck in their tails, and whisper "good night."

Here is a new staple for bedtime reading, a book children will ask for again and again.

All children be it a girl or boy...young or old love dinosaurs and this book is aimed at the dreaded bedtime routine....on each page mum or dad are trying to get get their dinosaur child to go to bed, to turn out the light and get them to go to sleep...but the dinosaur child has different ideas. They throw themselves down, throw their teddy bear, ask for a piggy back ride...basically anything to get out of going to bed...dad tried first and them sends in mum and still no luck!!

In the end the story does a u-turn and all the dinosaur children start behaving and they climb into bed, turn out the light and give mum and dad a kiss good night. The illustrations of the dinosaurs on each page are amazing and portray the dinosaurs very well...it makes me laugh that such a huge dinosaur is laying across a small child's bed and can only just fit onside the room, quite often which their tail out the door...yet in the door it is normal.

I read this book to the children at my centre as must of them love dinosaurs and with so many books in this series the children enjoy reading the different titles and having a good giggle at the dinosaur antics and will quite often tell stories about their own bed time routines.

The children all call out that the dinosaurs are being silly and they don't really do things like that because they would break the bed etc. or dinosaurs don't really have a teddy bear to go to bed with...so it is good to see children are able to develop a sense of humour and know what is real and what is made up by using your imagination. All in all a great book and if you or your child likes dinosaurs I highly recommend this book and others in the series.

It's great that this book is available in hard cover, soft cover and board book so there is a book type that is suited to all ages of children, with easy to see and easy to read words, great illustrations and the familiarity of an every day routine to make you laugh and have fun.

I purchased this book some time ago. My daughter was really into Dinosaurs at the time. How Do Dinosaurs offered me a way of giving her a dinosaur book at bedtime, while it being a gentle tale as well. This book comes in hardback as well as board book form. We have the board book because at the time of buying it my daughter was 2 and still quite rough for paper books.

The dinosaur illustrations in these books are great. If you look closely at each picture you can usually find the dinosaur type written into the illustration somewhere. The scenes are impossibly fun as well. Human Mum and Human Dad with their Dinosaur kid. This makes for a lot of great humour. Your Dinosaur Kid throwing themselves on the top of a Human Child sized bed for example, or up demanding a piggy back ride. The look on the mother's face at that was so classic, we always laugh.

The words are simple and fun. They flow really nicely, and are easy enough to remember so she could "read" along with me at an early age. Since buying this book, we have added to the collection as well. There is a whole series of How Do Dinosaurs, which are all really clever. I'd recommend them to any parent, but especially someone with a dino-mad child.

I love this book it makes a great bedtime story for young children. In it the narrator asks if the dinosaur children get up to all sorts of antics, such as shouting they want one book more, or pouting, or throwing things on the floor.

It is such a good example of things that children can and sometimes do get up to when they decide they are not ready for bed. It finishes by saying that Dinosaurs don't do any of those things they just five a big kiss and turn out the light and say good night which is a great way of children learning what the bedtime routine should be.

Our copy of this book is looking worse for wear as it was my daughters favourite when she was small and is now much loved by her brother. I have some of the other How Do Dinosaurs books they have brought out since releasing this book, but this one is by far my favourite.
