Day and Night product reviews

Day meets Night and Night meets Day in this delightful picture book based on the Pixar short, Day & Night, which premièred with Toy Story 3 in 2010. Kids will delight in the way these two characters explore their differences and eventually realize how much they like and enjoy each other. A wonderful way to experience the magic of this Pixar short again and again and rejoice in the attraction of opposites!

Back in 2010, when the long awaited Toy Story 3 came out in cinemas, there was of course the expectation of one of Pixar's oh so wonderful short films. Day and Night was the short film that accompanied Toy Story 3.

There isn't much in the way of the written word in this book. The basic storyline is that Day is out walking one morning when it finds something strange, attempts to walk past but it wakes up and we are told that it is Night. Day and Night have a little fight but then they discover some great things about each other, like butterflies and fireworks, and then they discover what they create together.

While it is such a simple and lovely book, it doesn't hold the charm of the original short film, but it is still a little delight to read and my kids enjoyed it.

Product image for The Terrible Thing that Happened to Barnaby BrocketThere's nothing unusual about the Brockets. Boring, respectable and fiercely proud of it, Alistair and Eleanor Brocket turn up their noses at anyone strange or different. But from the moment Barnaby Brocket comes into the world, it's clear he's anything but normal. To the horror and shame of his parents, Barnaby appears to defy the laws of gravity - and floats.

Little Barnaby is a lonely child - after all, it's hard to make friends ... more...
