We were lucky enough to get a copy of Terrible Time to review in this latest round. My daughter loves her Horrible Science annual we got a few years back, so I was very keen to try her on this book. The history ones always interest me, but not her. Science is definitely where her interests lie.

This book is a good size. It's not too small and inside has a decent margin. I liked the layout, an the font was for the most part big and easy enough to read. The illustrations are in black and white and cartoon style. Even the graphics and science terms being explained are done with neat little cartoons. There are also break-out comic strips for historical information related to the science.

We read this book over the course of a few nights. I think she enjoyed it a bit more than I did. True to it's series this is horrible science. There were a few things in the book that I felt was a bit difficult to read about. My daughter on the other hand was perfectly fine with some of the grosser information and even wanted to see pictures. This book being about time makes you think about getting older and we did end up having a wee talk about what happens when you get too old to continue living.

This book was a good introduction to some pretty big concepts about time. My daughter enjoyed it and I think we will revisit this book again in the future. As long as your child isn't too sensitive this book should be suitable and a fun read.
