For such a tiny little box, this thing puts out some big sound. The fact that it is also wireless, portable, and will act as a handsfree kit is why I decided to mount it onto the dashboard of the old Ford ute I drive for work, and hardwire in a charging cable. I can still detach it easily thanks to the velcro but it sits firmly on my dash and is easy enough to reach the controls on to without taking my eyes off the road. With my phone set to automatically connect to it as soon as I am within range it sets itself up for me when I get in, and disconnects itself as soon as I shut the garage door thanks to the solid metal walls blocking the bluetooth signals.

I wasn't expecting much in the way of good sound range when I saw it. I was fully expecting the usual tinny sound with some attempt at bass, but when I heard this little black box belting out Rammstein at full bass I was pretty impressed. I hate to admit this but the speakers built into my ute don't even sound this good!

I really thrashed this thing, playing full spectrum at full volume, and with the charging cable unplugged I was still getting the best audio after 8 hours. Because that is about the longest I would expect to be behind the wheel in a single stretch I think it's fairly safe to say that having it plugged in for one full day, then unplugged all of the next, is going to be a fairly safe pattern to keep the battery healthy and my music flowing non-stop. I can finally ditch the hassle of stopping to swap CDs around while I am on the road, or having to listen to the same 10-15 songs on loop play, and make use of the 2,000 odd songs I bought off iTunes over the years that are currently filling a couple of little memory cards I can slot into my phone.

The best bit for me is that I now also have a very effective handsfree car kit at no extra charge and it is smart enough to cut the music and switch to phone mode when an incoming call starts ringing. I am not sure if it's my phone taking care of that or this box, but either way I am very glad since I have set my iPhone up with voice commands to answer and hang-up calls anyway. The boss bought me one of those stupid earbud things that make me look like a flamin Auckland yuppy or something. I have never used it, and now I don't have to even pretend I do. He'll be happy to get it back so he can give it to someone else.

I love this little box and I plan to buy one for my girlfriend for our anniversary. She keeps telling me she's going to steal it out on my ute one day, so I think she likes it too, though I don't think she's happy that I can now hear any conversations she has in the car. No more secret-swapping with her girlfriends while I am driving. Another winner on the scorecard as far as I am concerned!
