This was a very clever puzzle. Almost too clever really as it soon became a bit of a strain to solve them. I dont have a lot of patience when it comes to frustration. If I encounter a problem I cant solve I go find someone who can help me solve it, which defeats the purpose of this.
Though I did manage so solve some of the simpler puzzles, the more complicated ones stumped me for way too long to stay interested. But that is more about me than the puzzle. I watched as other struggled to complete the pictures required and the joy on their faces as they managed to complete them showed how this puzzle really did work for them.
All in all this seems to be a great gift idea for the brainiac in your family or social circle. it just wasnt really ideal for me. Despite that it is easy to see the quality of the product and thus its true worth in the hands of the right target market.

This is one of those puzzles that you can never completely get sick of. There's always one more puzzle to solve, one more challenge to beat, one more configuration to achieve... simple to understand, impossible to master. The true hallmark of a "Dr Wood" game. :)

We brought this out during our recent GAMESnight, but alas, being a 1-person puzzle it didn't really appeal to the group concept of GAMESnight. However, a few of the players took a turn, and some quite enjoyed the challenge.

The pieces have a dual nature... one side has only black and red squares, while the other side has black and either red, yellow or blue squares. Some of the basic puzzles can be solved by almost everyone who attempts them, but as the puzzles progress through the skill levels, you start to see who thinks in shapes, who are the logical thinkers, and who are just wired the wrong way to really get the most from this.

Overall, this is one of those "love it or hate it" puzzles... personally, I loved it. It appeals to the way my brain is wired, and my "always face down a challenge" mentality. The game itself it very sturdily built. The pieces are well bonded together and the clear plastic case is able to withstand a fair amount of handling. If you enjoy a puzzle with a staggering number of challenge levels, then this is something you should explore.
