What a cute cardboard pack. At least that is what I first thought when I saw this product. Turns out that this recyclable-looking packet is simply the exterior, which hides the inner plastic pouch to which it is attached. So I guess once this product has been eaten, that whole thing will go in the bin. I could potentially reuse it, but the cardboard exterior may not keep too well. On the upside, the packet is resealable, so at least the plastic components have a purpose. Personally, I would love to see the amount of plastic reduced in the future. Sustainability and all.

What intrigued me about this product was the fact that this was a roasted salted cashew nut with skin. With skin. I have never seen a cashew nut sold with the skin on and didn't even know that they had a skin to leave on. What was almost immediately deflating, however, was the fact that the back of the packet tells me to peel off the skin prior to serving. What is the point of the skin then? Does it seal in the flavour for longer? Is it just a point of difference on the market shelf? Who knows. The packet certainly has no further information on the matter.

So I did what any brave reviewer would do for his loyal readers. I went ahead and ate some of the cashew skin on its own and with the nut to see what the situation is. I can tell you with absolute certainty that eating the nuts with the skin still on will do you no harm (unless you are allergic to nuts. I do not condone or recommend eating nuts if you are allergic to them). The skin itself is slightly bitter when consumed on its own, and when eaten intact with the nut, they provide a light crispiness that works together well with the cashew nut flavour.

The cashews are actually surprisingly large. I can't say whether this is due to the "protection" that the skin may have during the roasting process, or whether ONO has better access to export quality cashews, but they are a good size, and they are very generously salted. The salt cuts through the cashew flavour well, and combined with the light crisp of the skin, creates an almost pistachio-like experience.

Removing the skin isn't a difficult task (just rub the nut between your fingers and thumb as if you were playing the world's tiniest violin) but it isn't necessary. The skin provides a nice unique edge to a nut that was running out of things to offer.

Roasted salted cashew nuts with skin on, I wish I had of read the part about the skin on again properly when I opened it because me being greedy I just put it straight in my mouth and then I realise oops gotta take the skin off. But first getting into the bag was a little bit difficult it as it is very well sealed. Helps to keep them fresh but ripping the bag open was a bit of a struggle, but we got there in the end.

The resealable pouch is very strong and took me awhile to be able to open it but once we got in it was great. The cashew sizes are extra large and the skin can be removed very easily just a twist with in your fingers and it's removed and then you have a large salted cashew nuts to put in your mouth. I found them very tasty good amount in the packet and great for sharing. We took them camping and everybody enjoyed it for an afternoon snack where there was about six adults that sat down and had a few each and everybody enjoyed them the kids were wanting some but we were being greedy and keep them to ourselves.

Best before date 19th of January 2022 so it's got a good lifespan and shelflife on it which is really good for having in the cupboard to just chuck in your bag for a snack. You definitely know that they won't spill through your bag because the resealable pouch seals up super tight. A great product great value for money and I would recommend these to family and friends.

Cashews is an item that it is impossible to be eaten one at a time or to eat only one of. I work in bulk bins and Cashews salted and unsalted are two of my biggest sellers. I defy anyone to eat one and then walk away - it is truly impossible, so that is probably my biggest issue with this item. I am used to grabbing a handful at a time and scuffing them in my mouth - two or three handfuls is suffice and I then I am satisfied and I am done and can walk away content.

Opening the bag was nice and easy and without thinking I grabbed a couple and popped in my mouth. I didn't realise there was skin on them until my husband pointed it out and well it was already in my mouth and I had crunched down. I turned the bag over and saw the window and realised there were skins looking back at me - and turned it over to read 'peel of skin prior to serving'. Seriously who has the time to sit there and peel the skin away when all you want to do is pop it in your mouth!

My husband got busy peeling and said it was rather tedious but he did get quicker as he went along. We agreed that would last a lot longer as patience is not our virtue. Honestly I would prefer the ease of buying the cashews already peeled.

The cashews were nice but I do prefer more salt then what these had. I think in all honesty if I was going to buy cashews I would prefer to buy them salted and peeled so that I can sit back and relax and eat them the way I have become accustomed to. Sadly not something that I will be purchasing again in the future.

Growing up, cashews were a staple snack at my dads house, roasted and salted being the preferred medium. I knew that the skins weren't something ever to be eaten due to the toxins within it (and the nut itself) but it still never occurred to me to still roast the cashews in the skin and remove I later (like we do the pistachio nut). Getting this bag out, I liked the feel of the packaging and the little window so you can see what you're getting. I enjoyed the paper ripping feel of opening this bag but am slightly disappointed that this isn't recyclable, I always enjoy a resealable bag, but I am happy to forgone that for something that is a bit more eco friendly.

Two of my children love nuts and so were happy to trial this with me. We tried this both with skin on and skin off (as the packet says, remove the skins before eating). My youngest decided that skin off was far nicer than with the skin and was happy that it was easy to peel off (even if a little messy). My other child decided that they taste far superior with the skin on and has devoured half the packet on their own (and the rest if I let them). I found that while skin on was saltier, I was left with a slightly odd sensation on my tongue and so am sticking to skinless. It could do with a little more salt flavour but I like that the nuts are still nice and solid. $5 for 100g isn't cheap, but these nuts never are, for what its worth I think we will get these again.

I absolutely love cashews! They are a product I buy regularly for the family with the children taking nuts in their lunchboxes and me eating small handfuls for a snack to bridge the gap between meals. I find cashews great for curbing the mid afternoon hunger pangs without eating something too heavy to ruin my dinnertime appetite. The only downside to snacking on cashews is they are extremely hard to resist the temptation of going back for more and more.

I was intrigued when I saw these cashews that come in the natural skin. I don't believe I've ever seen cashew in skin before so wasn't aware they even had a skin. Though the packaging told me to remove the skin before eating I didn't actually mind the extra bit of crunch and texture the skin provided. In saying that they are actually super easy to peel I found putting them in the palm of my hand and gently rolling my fingers over them loosened and removed all the skin in seconds.

These Ono cashews have a great level of salt you can definitely taste that they have been salted but it's not overpowering or too salty. I also loved that having the skin on made the cashews feel less oily than other packaged cashews. I think these were a hit with the family it was quite different having the cashews with skin still on and while it added extra work of peeling before you could devour the delicious morsels it was nice to learn having the peel on locks in all that flavour and nutrients.

We all love cashew nuts, although I sometimes find that supermarket salted cashews can be overly salted. I had also never seen cashew nuts with their skin on, so was interested to find out what they tasted like. Ono cashew nuts come in a resealable, paper over plastic bag. I first thought the bag might be recyclable but was wrong. The bag was 100 g and I soon found out that the resealable element of the bag was not needed!

The family soon crowded round when I opened these up and the eldest daughter, who is a huge cashew nut fan, looked at them and proclaimed that she didn't like salted cashew nuts (was news to me, but her loss, not mine!) Hubby, youngest daughter and I tucked in and found them incredibly moreish and tasty. They were salty but not too salty and whole cashews - I get disappointed when you buy cashew nuts and there are pieces and not whole nuts, but not with these. Hubby grabbed the bag off me and read that you should peel off the skin prior to eating so quickly peeled the remaining cashew nuts he had in his hand. The youngest daughter and I shrugged our shoulders and kept eating them with their skin on as we really liked the taste and texture. I'm not sure why they would sell roasted salted cashew nuts with the skins on if you couldn't eat the skins? It didn't say that you couldn't eat them so we ate them straight out of the packet.

My one complaint would be the size of the bag. The bag said an average serving is 30g but I could have easily eaten the bag myself in one sitting. Lucky for hubby and youngest daughter they were present when I opened them! They are a little pricey but I would buy them again as we found them a tasty snack the majority of the family enjoyed!

I really enjoy all sorts of nuts, but have a real soft spot for roasted and salted nuts - mmmmmmmm and they are in fact one of my favourite "treat" foods so seeing these come up for review, I jumped at the chance to try something new, and unique with the skin on roasted cashews, something I had not come across before. I was really intrigued to know if leaving the skins on the cashews (potentially a waste product removed and thrown away) could really change the texture and the flavour I was used to, and loved.

The bag itself is (apparently haha) resealable - but, this was never going to be an issue for my family, as no sooner had I opened the bag when the three kids all came to see what I was eating, and hubby soon followed. In a matter of minutes we ate the whole lot! Now, knowing how honest kids are, I asked them what they thought and all of them professed that they absolutely loved them and could not believe that they were cashews as they looked so different and the really different texture that the skins on adds is really delicious. I'm sure you probably could remove the skins if you really wanted to, but to be honest - I felt they added to these nuts and made them different to the usual - which is what you want right, to stand out!

I had a read of the portion size, and noted that it was meant to be about 30g, I challenge most people to not eat a minimum of half the bag - they are really moreish, perfectly salted and roasted and are just delicious. While they are on the pricey side - most specialty nuts such as cashews, almonds, pistachios and more, are, so I would expect to pay more.

I would have liked to have tried these more than just on their own, straight from the pack.... oh who am I kidding - they were perfect on their own, straight from the pack! I would see them being used in other things for sure. These are a really unique idea that has worked beautifully and I definitely NEED more of these!!

I loved the packaging these arrived with, easy to open and easy to reseal. My plan was to cook with these but honestly, we ate a few and decided they were too good to just cook with. The colour and texture were definitely better than I am used to. Usually, I would throw a few diced or sliced cashews on a range of Asian dishes but as these were whole it added another layer of preparation so it took a while to get around to that before just eating some. They just looked great.

They definitely felt good quality and a good-sized pack (cashews are never cheap, unfortunately!). The flavour was good and really nutty (no surprises there). I liked the option of with/out skins and tried both and saw the appeal of both. I liked them as a snack and the pack had easily enough for two of us to share and leave some for cooking. We tried them as a mid-afternoon workday snack and they were ideal. Good and filling and not too salty so I didn't need a lot of water afterwards. I would say if you were travelling these would be great too.

The first cooking was probably an error on my part as the skins weren't ideal in a stirfry. I did dice up the last few without the skins and they worked really well on top of noodles. I am not sure I am enough of a cashew fan for this particular product but if you were a more discerning cashew connoisseur they might make the grade to buy more regularly.

I have always enjoyed the flavour of roasted cashews, with or without added salt, but in all my years I have never come across cashews with their skins on. After trying some, I now wonder why they are not far more common! Surely they would take less processing, the odds of getting whole cashews would likely increase greatly, and while the package says to remove the skins, I found the added flavour notes to be absolutely wonderful and I suffered no ill effects.

The nutrition panel on the back states that 1 portion is 30g - a little under 1/3rd of the pack - and I actually found that a bit misleading. After the first taste of a skin-on cashew, the entire 100g bag was gone before I really noticed, and I found myself wishing I had a second pack on hand.

Normally, I would experiment with a food product such as this - maybe try candying some, or crushing them and using them in a biscuit recipe or even choc-coating them... but with them all being gone well before I even thought to stop snacking on them, none of those options were available to me. However, I've done more than a few food experiments with cashews in the past to know that any of those options would have resulted in a really incredible taste treat, and if I ever see these on the shelf in a store I will be quick to grab a few packs and give my creativity free reign.

Overall, these are a common product with a unique twist that is sure to win over any fan of nuts in general but especially cashew lovers. If you have never tried a skin-on cashew, I can't encourage you enough to find some and give them a try. They may not become your new go-to snack, because everyone has different taste preferences, but they are certainly a wonderfully unique flavour that you simply must try at least once. They just might win you over too.

Cashews are a nut I have enjoyed all my life, ever since my father introduced me to them when I was around three years old. I have eaten them plain, roasted, salted, and unsalted - and it would be hard to decide which is preferable as they are great no matter how you prepare them. However, the idea of serving them in their skins was new to me: it was something that would not have occurred to me as a possibility because the cashews I normally purchase are sold in sealed bags ready to eat. I will try anything once, however, so I peeled the first two and ate them in the way I was accustomed to, then left the skin on the next couple to see if they would taste any different.

I was surprised to find there was little difference in either flavour or texture. The skins are like those on peanuts; I can take them or leave them, and I think this will be the case with cashews too. Either way they make a great snack, much healthier than potato chips, and (apart from a slightly sweet aftertaste which occurs naturally) much better than confectionery.

My partner and I ate several nuts apiece and would happily have eaten the entire packet, but I wanted to try them out in a recipe which is usually made with quartered Brazil nuts. This is a salad made with celery, scallions, mushrooms, cubed cheddar, avocado, and tomatoes, drizzled with a dressing made of fresh orange juice and crushed garlic. The nuts are added at the last minute and just spread over the surface so they retain their crunch. The cashews were even better than our usual Brazil nuts!

I used up most of the packet for this meal, but had enough left to try out with another perennial favourite. The combination of nuts and cream cheese is hard to beat, and when it is served with crusty French bread and a scrape of real butter, it is superb. I cut a baguette into two hunks, split and buttered them, then put them on small plates with the cashew nut and cream cheese mix. Some pickles and sliced tomatoes completed what was a most substantial lunch, and the combination went well with our chilled beer.

The cashews were especially nice because they had a sweetish aftertaste and a creamy texture which were ideal with the cheese. I am not sure whether they would have softened if they had been left for a while, but there was no chance of that happening. They were all gone within ten minutes so no worries there. Again we left the skin on; there was little difference either way, and it saved work to just eat them like that.
