Like I have done for the past 5 or so years, this years New Years resolution was to try to get healthier, including eating better. Carbs and sweets are my food weakness, I can not resist them no matter what. When I saw that Farrah's have produced a wrap that is low in carbs, I was intrigued and decided I would love to try them. Wraps are a favourite lunch or dinner time option for me.

Looking at the front of the packet, there is no way that you can miss that these are Low Carb Wraps. In the packet there are 6 wraps, with each wrap having 9g carbs, and only 90 calories per wrap. These are vegetarian and vegan friendly, and have no artificial flavours or colours, unfortunately these wraps are not gluten-free. These wraps are soft and light, and provide 25% of your daily fibre intake. The wraps come in a handy resealable package, perfect for keeping any unused wraps fresh.

I decided that I would use some spicy peri peri mayo, lettuce, tuna, cucumber, and a little cheese in my wraps. I worried that with these being low carb, that they wouldn't taste as good as what I am used to, however I honestly could not tell the difference. There was no aftertaste, and they were a pleasant texture to eat. Wraps are so versatile and can be used in numerous ways, thinking about it and these wraps would be ideal as a low carb pizza base alternative.

I enjoyed this product and would like to think that it would help me to eat better, and as they are the same cost as the ones packed with carbs, I don't feel discouraged. Well done on Farrah's for producing another high quality product, and for thinking outside of the box to try make people's meals healthier.

Wraps are the most amazing invention ever. You can have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything in between. You can put whatever ingredients you want in them. You can have them hot or cold. You can treat them as a sandwich or a pizza - and the best thing is they last for months. We received the bag over a week ago and when we opened them and they still felt like I had just brought them.

The other great thing about wraps is everyone is free to do what they want with them and I do not have to worry about them. Last night I boiled up some eggs and mashed them, sliced up some onions, tomatoes, avocado and grated some cheese, I had brought some chicken chicken and the rest of the ingredients were left over items that were in the fridge - beyond easy. Put an arrangement of sauces on the bench and dinner was done. Everyone was happy and it is so carefree you don't even the mind the raining smacking the windows.

Although, I love wraps, one thing I must comment on is there were only 6 wraps in the packet and they were on the smaller side. I do prefer the bigger wraps that are available. I could not tell the difference between these wraps and other ones we have had in the past, even if these were low carb. I was a tad concerned that the flavour was going to be impacted but after the first bite my mind was put to rest. I did feel that I was being healthier eating them, as I was getting 25% of the daily fibre I require and also each wrap was only 90 calories so I felt I could be naughtier with the filling and went a little bit overboard with the garlic hummus.

I do love with Farrah's you always have high quality and I have never had one get a hole/crack in them. When buying wraps I always buy Farrah's and I have no hesitation in buying these again. Even with the smaller size I would just buy two packets as that is what we usually end up doing anyway as because they always taste so good one is never enough.

I was intrigued to see if a wrap advertised as "Low Carb" would taste as good as the more usual type. I often use Farrah's wraps in my cooking, so I had a good idea of what I was looking for. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I honestly could not tell the difference - they had exactly the same taste and texture as the regular wraps I am used to. This is a really useful thing to know because I follow a mainly keto diet, so always check the carb content of what I am preparing.

Having tasted a small piece of one wrap on its own, I used the rest plus another whole one to make my dinner. I had some sweet chilli marinated tofu to use up, so I put the whole wrap on a plate and topped it with the tofu, some grilled mushrooms, and shredded greens. The second, partly used, wrap was then put on top and the "wrap sandwich" browned in a flat double sided grill. This was more than enough for a meal, and I certainly did not feel deprived - I often prepare wraps like this, and this version was indistinguishable from the regular wrap version.

Armed with the knowledge that my friends would certainly not pick this for a different type of wrap, I took the rest of the pack to their house to make some ground beef burritos. I had deliberately removed the wraps from their packaging and rehoused them in foil so they would not ask questions - their teenage son is a fussy eater and would refuse anything that might be seen as diet food! As it happens, he was doing a catering module at school, so volunteered to make the burritos himself. I offered to assist, but my help consisted mainly of watching him doing the preparation and trying not to smile. He was so proud of himself when he served up four perfect burritos accompanied by a side salad of beetroot and carrot twirls.

The meal was a great success. I asked for their feedback on the wraps. They all said they were delicious, just like the last ones I had provided, and were perfect for the burritos. The last packet I had brought (the regular type) had been used for chicken salad wraps as the weather had been warmer, and it was clear that they had not spotted any difference. This was great news; I could have my low carb option and there would be no need to cater for two separate groups of people.

I would have tried them in another favourite recipe - cream cheese, fresh pineapple, and baby spinach pinwheels - but there were no wraps left. However, that is another option to try in the future. It is a good combination for a picnic or even for a party platter. But perhaps I will wait till the weather warms up again to try that one.
