Do you believe in magic? Who needs to build a snowman? Want to play with a Yeti? This movie makes you feel like it is all possible and that you can enjoy doing it.

I had to watch the DVD a few times as it was a story that has so much to offer, great animation, strong characters and it was easy to tell the good guys who only want to help the Yeti from the bad guys who don't care if s/he gets hurt, it was a rather funny scene to show us that the yeti is in fact a boy. The bond between Yi and Everest was amazing to see, the way she understood what he was trying to communicate was great, the animators didn't try and make the characters too much like a cartoon and it was easy to believe that the characters could be real.

I would have to say that Yi is probably my favourite character as she is strong without being a tomboy and she shows an obvious work ethic and she never goes back on her word, she makes promises that she never gives up on. I was incredibly glad when the bad guys didn't get what they wanted and were written out of the movie and there was a few surprises in how what appeared to be a bad guy turned good and some characters showed their true colours.

One of my kids watched this with me and they loved it, I know that this movie will appeal to kids. There is magic and mythical creatures and the animation was great. There was humour and the characters evolve and grow. I like that there was hidden messages, most kids would not see the greed and ambition in the bad guys but I noticed it and was glad when the greed was not rewarded.

I am busy watching the bonus features now, I concentrated more on the actual movie for the review and I liked that the deleted scenes were included and that the director does a lot of the talking and explanations of what the thought processes were.
