Down to Earth Organic Soup - Chunky Tomato product reviews

The charm of this everyday soup lies in its simplicity. This tomato soup is prepared from fresh, hand-picked organic tomatoes and has high nutritional value. We have kept the original taste in the act but you cannot help noticing the marked difference in flavour because of the organic ingredients that go into it.

A vibrant, hearty, soothing, chunky tomato soup to brighten up the rainy season! The key to a delicious tomato soup is in roasting the tomatoes. Its sweet and fresh taste redefines this typically average dish while chunks of tomatoes give it a hearty and filling appeal. Serve small portions with favourite bread or roll. Roasting the heirloom tomatoes, onion, and garlic intensifies their flavours by caramelizing their natural sugars.

Sweet basil and crushed red pepper flakes add just the right amount of seasoning and warmth when blended with the caramelized tomato mixture to make a flavorful chunky soup.

The soup tin is very cute, and after opening it the soup inside was a rich orange colour, it had a lovely aroma that immediately tantalised my taste buds. The first spoonful did not disappoint, the soup had a rich flavour, enhanced by herbs. The consistency of the soup was not creamy it was more on the watery side, which is a preference of mine for soup, I find creamy soups to rich for my stomach, so this was a spot on texture. I shared a few spoonful's with my children, and one found it a little on the spicy side, but still offered to finish my bowl for me!

As a meal the convenience of something that you can heat and eat cannot be underplayed, and it is rare for foods like this to be organic and healthy so these were big plus's for me. I was also impressed reading the tin to find that there were five vegetables within the tomato soup, and every ingredient is organic, and there is a full flavour that is found in 'home grown' type vegetables.

These are a great size to have in the cupboard, but I wondered if they were a little too small to fill up a hungry teen. The soup is so thick and chunky that it was fulling and the tins are the perfect size! But they would be a little more convenient if a can opener wasn't required, I often like to send soups for lunches in winter, but I wouldn't send anything that required a can opener. I loved that the packaging was recyclable. Would I buy these again? Yes, even though they are probably a little more costly than I would usually spend on single serving soup, you get what you pay for, and these are whole food healthy.

I love soup especially in winter as it is so easy to heat up in a short amount of time at work. I thought that I would give this a go but when I had a look I couldn't find any heating guidelines on the tin but then the font is so small that I struggled to read it. I took a chance and microwaved it for a minute or so at work and then sat down to eat my lunch. I took a sniff but that only made me think that I had made a mistake as it didn't smell good at all.

I had a spoonful and almost instantly could feel the heat from the red pepper flakes, it wasn't very nice but I can't write a rewview based on just one taste and I can't go back to work hungry so I had the rest of the bowl and by the end of the bowlful I could feel the back of my throat was tingling and my lips had joined the party. Lucky I had some milk to be able to cool down the burning feeling in my mouth. I also had the thought that the texture of the soup reminded me of pureed baby food so not a very pleasant experience at all.

I really like the thought of organic food that is healthy for me but not when it makes me think of baby food and sets my throat on fire and I do actually like spicy food and curries but not all the time. I will not be buying this product again.

Tomato soup was the main variety of soup I had whilst growing up, thank, I'm sure, to a mother who loved tomatoes so much she would eat them like apples. We stopped having tomato soup for a while, once she realised too much of the good stuff equaled hives, but I have been getting back into this flavour over the last couple of years. I must say that I'm not a fan of the label design and colours but I like that it has a wealth of information from their company aim to a little info on their aim for the soup, to have the taste of tomatoes but taste better due to the organic components.

Opening this up was a little tough to do, something that seems to be a theme with these cans, but I managed to open it up without making my kitchen look like I'd gone canabalistic in it. Giving it a sniff, there was no doubt it was full of tomatoes, and once heated it caught the attention of my mothers nose as well. I didn't end up getting to have as much of this as I thought that I would, due to the kids and my mother wanting to try it, but the general consensus was that it tasted wonderful, it had a good texture and we should buy it again, the only downside being that it doesn't come in a bigger container. This is one that we probably will pickup again, not in a big rush because cost wise, it doesn't work out feeding us all a decent amount, but as a treat now and then, I think we'll be getting this,

One of my go to lunch meals at work is tinned soup and soup for one tomato soup is my always go to especially over winter. I always have a can in the draw at work. So I was excited to try this flavour when I seen it I hid it in the back of the cupboard so my son would not find it as he also loves tomato soup. This Down to Earth Organic Soup Chunky Tomato flavoured soup is so good and I am so glad I was able to try it.

I loved the flavours and thought it was a lot smoother then what I thought it may have been but that did not worry me and I enjoyed the texture and that is my kind of texture. Flavour wise I found it spot on, I would be recommending this to friends, work mates and family who I know are also big soup eaters. There were a few at lunch time around the table asking what I had and how it was. They had a small try and really enjoyed it. They also liked the texture and flavour and asked about the product and how much it was. At the time I did not know the price but when later told them they were sweet with it and thought it was good.

Overall I am happy with the product and for the price its fair for organic products. It is good to know you are having organic and better for you. The labeling is great and the tin is awesome and cute, It looks small but there is a meal in there and that is enough to full you up. When I see this in the supermarket I will def be stocking me up on some for my work draw for more lunches to come.

Let me start this review by saying that I eat soup and some sort of salad for lunch at least three times a week. Over the course of a year, that is 156 soups. I eat a lot of soup. So, upon receiving the Down to Earth Organic Chunky Tomato Soup I was excited to try a new variety.

The 300 Milliliter serving size and total k cal of the can (189) is sized perfectly to go with my salad I eat for lunch. This size is nice because a lot of canned soups are at two servings worth which makes it a bit annoying to dole out the additional servings to store in a different container for me to eat the next day. I also love that it is organic because tomatoes are usually one of the dirtiest produce items for levels of pesticides, so it is one of the items to splurge on and spend the extra bit of money. Furthermore, this company's products are made without any chemicals or toxic substances, so you know you are putting something good inside your body.

As for my rating of the actual soup? This is the second type of soup I have tried from the company and so far, it is my favourite. I have made my own tomato soup from homegrown tomatoes and this soup rivals that. Though the title says it is chunky, and it does have a few small chunks of tomato for texture, I would consider it more on the smoother side. I can taste the pepper, salt, a hint of basil, and some garlic. It also has quite a few other spices that help add to its complexity, though my elementary taste buds didn't pull them out specifically. It is a sweet tomato soup but not overtly so. It is also a lighter red, due to the coconut cream used. It would go perfect with a sandwich or any sort of bread. All in all, I highly recommend this soup and will buy it in the future for I like it much more than I usually like literally any canned soup.

I had been looking forward to trying this soup. It was late at night; I was in a hurry because I was due to leave on an early morning flight. There was no time for a complicated meal - dinner had to be quick to prepare and able to be eaten on the run. I had the can of soup, and there was griddle bread in the freezer, so this would suffice. I was not sure that it would be enough for dinner, but was willing to give it a try.

Less than three minutes after opening the tin, I had reheated the contents in the microwave and toasted some of the griddle bread to go with it. It certainly smelled good; I like tomato soup anyway so was looking forward to my first taste. I was pleasantly surprised when I took my initial sip. Tinned tomato soup is one of those foods I can take or leave, and would not be my first choice because it sometimes tastes more of vinegar than anything else. But this one was different - a new take on an old idea. The tomato taste was fresh and mouth-watering, with a proper chunky tomato texture. Nothing could be further from the acidic puree I had expected. This was real gourmet fodder, enhanced only by the judiciously added spices.

The suggestion was to serve small portions with a roll or some bread, but I was having none of that. This was my dinner and I was hungry - and I was not sharing! And, to my surprise, I had a good-sized meal for one when I factored in the griddle bread. I had not realised that a small tin would be so filling. Not only was it adequate for a meal for one, it was also totally delicious. If I had had a second tin, I might have been tempted to open that as well, although I certainly did not need it.

I appreciated the assurance on the label that the ingredients were all organically grown. I also liked the entire label design, with plenty of information about the soup and the sweet little graphic of a "Little Red Riding Hood" style figure picking the tomatoes. It is certainly a can that would attract consumers because it is so colourful. On a supermarket shelf it would definitely stand out. The price, too, is reasonable given that it is enough for a meal for one person. I look forward to buying this product again in the future.
