I was really intrigued by this product when I first noticed it listed for review. I have a teenage son who absolurely loves nachos and is forever 'wasting' his money on shop bought pre made nacho meals. I knew that him more than anone in the family would be keen to give this cheese sauce ago, and I was right lol the day the package arrived he wanted to make nachos immediately :)

Checking the label several times over and getting other family to check incase I was simply missing it, I was frustrated to find no instructions for you. I guess being a sauce in a can it's probably self explanatory lol but can you eat it cold? Must it be heated? Do you heat till it's runny or should it still be thick? Unfortunately for me I am one of those people that over analyses or questions things to much often making a simple process much harder than it needs to be. To solve the dilemma of no instructions I checked Jr and read the reviews to see what others did lol Ã-problem solvedÃ-

We heated enough sauce in the microwave until warmed through. It still stayed an extremely thick consistency though. I don't know if heating more may have thinned it out a bit or not. The kids did not like how thick it was when making up their nachos but they did enjoy the taste. Hubby loved it but I'm a bit finicky when it comes to cheese sauces and admit to not really being a fan. It has a bit of a kick to it but the kids all added sour cream and said that made it pleasant to eat without being to hot.

The can also comes with a reusable lid which is pretty cool. I do not like leaving things in cans though so I put the unused portion of sauce into a new container and we used it a couple days later on a potato dish. The kids didn't do the dishe's that night, doing them the following evening, by this time the sauce had set quite well in the container and was quite a mission to wash according to my son. So definitely do your dishes the same night lol

Possibly not really a product I would buy regularly or often but I may suggest it to other nacho & cheese sauce lovers. It's not for me but as I said previously - I'm finicky and picky :)

We are big cheese fans in our house, so was thrilled to be able to try this product. It's nothing like what we've seen in the supermarket before! The can was appealing with a comic-looking picture so it would have been something I picked off the shelf to look at.

It's a great idea of having ready made cheese sauce, but was no substitute for the real melted cheese on our nachos. My husband and I both had a look, but we could not find instructions on how to heat or even use the sauce! So we just put some in a jug and heated it in the microwave until it was runny enough to pour. Still not sure we got the consistency correct though. But on the nachos it went! We were expecting a bit more of a flavour even with a description of a mild jalapeno, but for us, it failed to deliver. It just tasted too...plastic! Like the plastic sliced cheese from the supermarket. It didn't add anything extra to our nachos sadly.

Having had not a very successful trial of the cheese sauce with nachos, which by the looks is what it's marketed for, we tried it mixed in with our pasta. We did half with this cheese sauce and half with our other normal pasta sauce to try. And while it added a depth to this dish that we didn't find with the nachos, it still didn't completely satisfy and the original sauce was still the better. It was, however, so easy to do! Cook the pasta as you already do, heat up some sauce (we learnt how long for from the nachos) and stir thru!

What I did love, however, was the resealable plastic lid which worked great so can be put in the fridge and used again. The can was big enough to use more than once so there was no need for wastage. So while we didn't particularly enjoy what looked like an awesome cheese idea, and not something we would get again, it is something we certainly would encourage people to try it for themselves.

I'm not a huge canned food consumer, but I was really interested to see what a cheese sauce might be like out of a can. I guess I just hadn't pictured dairy products being canned. The can itself looked really appealing though, and I liked the way it comes with a plastic seal-able lid too. That was very clever thinking, and I know I'll be able to keep it for use in future as well.

The first thing we did with this cheese sauce was serve it on top of nachos, along with salsa and sour cream. I liked the almost orange nacho cheese look. It just seemed really authentic. I didn't actually realise that it was going to be spicy until after I served it. Luckily for me, I had not given my kids a lot of it. I found it to be very spicy, and the kids couldn't eat it. My husband thought it was a great tasting addition and thought it could have been a touch hotter. Though he agreed that it was a good all-rounder. He loves his spicy chili.

The next time I used this product, I did a Mexican spin on a pasta bake. So I layered this sauce with Mexican mince, salsa and then lots of additional shredded cheese too. I figured the extra cheese would help my kids eat it. It worked this time around. Both kids were able to handle the spice level and ate the meal. This was good because I made enough for two nights.

This product didn't quite work out for us as a stand-alone condiment. However as a meal addition, something to stir-through, this worked just fine. I think if we were to get it again, we would aim to do so when the kids are out of town. Then we could enjoy it however we like.

Upon seeing this nacho cheese sauce up for review I just had to put in a request and cross my fingers that I would get to try it. Luckily for me a can arrived in my latest review goodie box and I knew just how I wanted to try it. One of our local convenience stores sells nachos that includes a cheese sauce on top of a mince and bean mix. For some reason I just can't go past it. As much as I know it isn't real cheese, and that I love real cheese better, there is something about the combination of the corn chips, the mince and bean mix and the ready made cheese sauce. So nachos for dinner it was!

I made up my usual nacho mix - mince, kidney beans, onions, tin of tomato soup, tin of diced tomatoes and a pack of nacho mix. I use a whole packet, even though for me this is getting to the limits of spiciness that I can handle. For this reason, I usually top my nachos with a decent amount of cheese to tone down the spiciness. As I don't like sour cream, the cheese is the dairy to balance it all out. For this reason, I was a little worried about the nacho cheese sauce upon noticing that it wasn't just plain cheese - that it had a jalapeno flavour in it too. While the mince mixture was cooking I decided to try a little bit of a the cheese so dipped my finger in. The flavour was actually really nice, but with having a slight little kick to it I knew it wasn't going to fulfill my usual reason for cheese on nachos. When I served mine up I did 1/4 of the mince with the cheese sauce, and put my normal grated cheese on the rest. I am pleased I did this. As much as the cheese sauce had a really nice flavour, it certainly didn't do the trick of toning down the spiciness for me. My husband on the other hand absolutely loved it alongside his sour cream. He said he would definitely have it again.

Once we had finished our dinner I placed the nacho cheese sauce in the fridge. Having a reusable lid I assumed it was safe enough to store the cheese in the tin. I did read over the tin to find out instructions for how long to keep it and how to keep it but there was nothing that I could find. Tonight, a week after having it for the first time, I decided to pull it out and try it with some corn chips, thinking this would be a nice way to enjoy it. As I pulled the lid off I noticed that there was a lot of liquid sitting on the top and I wasn't sure whether it was still ok. Preferring to be safe I threw the remainder out, as without instructions on the can about storage and how long to keep it I just didn't want to risk it. This was a shame and if we purchase this sauce again I will need to plan to use it within a few days of opening especially because at $6 for the tin I wouldn't want to have to throw the remainder out.

Up to now I have never considered buying a ready-made cheese sauce because I have always made my own, so I was intrigued to see whether this can would measure up. I had three dishes in mind to try it on, so once I had opened it I measured out the quantity for the first - which was a mixed broccoli and cauliflower cheese. I often serve these vegetables with a cheese sauce because it enhances the flavour and also makes them look more interesting on the plate.

I blanched the vegetables then topped them with a quarter of the can of cheese sauce and a sprinkling of sunflower seeds. I had tasted the sauce before adding it so I knew it had a slight (and unexpected) kick to it, but was not prepared for the amazing taste of the resulting dish when I took it out of the oven. It was not only as good as my home-made sauce, it was actually better. It had a great colour (reminding me, when combined with the vegetables, that it was a most appropriate recipe for March 17!) but also had a strong, rich flavour that resulted in the bowl almost not needing to be washed as the diners had managed to scoop out every last scrap! It will from now on be known as St Patrick's Day Broccoli, at least in my kitchen.

The second dish I tried it on was a basic macaroni cheese - and for this I used half a tin. The macaroni already had some liquid in it as I had included chopped leeks when I cooked it, and it was impossible to drain them dry before adding the sauce. If I had started with a drier macaroni mixture I might have needed more sauce. As things were, the half can was plenty for a moist end result. I could have browned it under the grill but people were hungry so I just stirred the cheese mixture into the hot macaroni and served it up immediately. Because the rest of the ingredients were extremely hot, the addition of the sauce did not cool it down too much.

The final quarter tin was reserved for my own lunch - I used it the conventional way to top some nachos together with leftover cooked mince and bean mixture. Needless to say, this was a great snack meal: I was able to take it to work and warm it in the microwave.

I could not find any indication on the can as to how long the contents could safely be stored after opening. In fact, there was not even an instruction to keep the opened contents refrigerated! However, I guess that is common sense given that it is a dairy product. As for keeping time, I noticed it had separated slightly 24 hours after opening, so I would probably play it safe and use it up within two or three days.

Will I buy it again? It is quite expensive so I probably won't buy it if I have hordes of people to feed, but for just one or two people it would be a great item to have in the cupboard as it is so quick and preparation is clean - you don't have half a dozen dishes to soak and wash, which is the usual way with home-made sauce. I also liked the fact that you could reseal the tin to use again if you had not used it all in one go.

When it comes to cheese I am the biggest fan, I love cheese on everything! However when it comes to making cheese sauce I am really not that great at making it, it always turns out lumpy otherwise rather tasteless which I always find such a shame. When I saw the Nacho Cheese Sauce up for review I was really hoping I would get the opportunity to review this and luckily I did.

The sauce comes ready made in a generous sized canister with a resealable lid, which is great as it means you don't have to use all the contents up at once. Opening the lid for the first time I saw a lovely rich, creamy sauce that was beautiful and thick, inside it it had what looked to be flecks of peppers in it, I must admit this did make me a bit worried as i'm not usually a fan of things that are hot and spicy, looking at the ingredients list I saw that these were in fact Jalapenos.

I decided to try this sauce out first on top of a lasagne which I had made for dinner, so after layering my mince and pasta I spread half of the cheese sauce over the top and then added a generous sprinkling of cheese before popping it in the oven to cook. The way the lasagna looked when I removed it from the oven was divine the sauce was all in place and hadn't vanished into the mince like it usually does and the taste was even better, so rich and cheesy, there was a hint of jalapeno flavour coming through though this was relatively mild and so didn't put me off, even my partner said that the sauce was really nice and Miss 4 was happy to gobble it up.

The next day we had some visitors so I decided to heat the remaining sauce up gently in a saucepan to serve with some nibbles on a platter, corn chips, chicken nuggets and salami pastry bites, the sauce was absolutely delicious as a dipping sauce and the cheesy flavour worked amazingly, everybody was asking for the recipe, they were happy to hear that it can be purchased right here in Hamilton at International Foods.

This sauce is amazing, so easy to heat and use I can think of so many uses for it, and am happy to say that I won't be making my own cheese sauce from scratch again, why would I when I can buy this amazing sauce. Another great product from International Foods that I have and will continue to buy again, the only problem I have is that when I go into the shop, I walk out with a whole lot more than I went in for!
