My son is a big fan of the Geronimo Stilton books so I'm so glad they have put out Theo Stilton range for my daughter to enjoy. My first impression was how beautiful this book is, this adventure book is a hard cover version and being 308 pages long is a lot longer than the usual ones.

This adventure sees Thea Stilton and the Thea Sisters head off to Aquamarina to discover why their enchanted music has stopped playing and reveals the dangers they face along the way. Like all the other Stilton books the pages are bright and engaging to the children, they use different fonts, sizes and colouring of words on each page to draw the attention, the pictures are the same, bright and colourful allowing the kids to envision the storyline along the way.

My daughter is slightly too young to read this book on her own but has spent ages just looking though the book looking at all the pictures, I would definitely recommend this book as we love all the Geronimo and Thea Stilton books and even thought this one is slightly higher priced it is a much longer book so you are getting your money's worth and if you have kids at school who get the Scholastic Book clubs you can usually get an awesome deal.

This is a hard copy edition, with gold writing on the cover, and this sets the tone that this Thea Stilton story is just that little bit more special than usual, it also looks a little more grown up. The book itself is also far longer than the regular Stilton stories, it is 307 pages, which is a great thing, as I know that avid Stilton fans can often devour a book in one sitting.

There are nine new characters introduced before the story begins, and a new land (or ocean) where our story takes place. Our story begins to unfold when Thea is invited to the top secret Seven Roses Unit a research centre that studies fantasy worlds, and of course all her BFFâ ™s are invited too. Thea was very excited, so excited getting to sleep the night before they left was almost too hard, it was the beginning of an adventure!

I donâ ™t think that any Thea's team anticipated an underwater adventure, with talking Octopuses who hand them the keys to a magical castle, but thats what unfolds in our story. The corridors of the castle are lined with coral that stings, and unfortunately one of the team gets injured and is taken away to be treated by the fairies.

Our remaining mouse friends are given a mystery to solve, but their job is not an easy one, with mirrors tasking the girls with three tests, which are almost riddle like in the way they are presented⦠The story itself seems pitched at a slightly older audience, the writing is still rich and descriptive, with the usual emphasis through colour and font, on different words during the text. The emphasis is far more imaginative than normal, with the entire story pitched in fiction, traditionally there are non-fiction facts dotted into the Stilton books, and so this is a refreshing change.

The pictures are detailed, full of colour, and woven artfully throughout the story. There are several double page pictures, which add interest to the book, and a map for our readers to follow. The Treasure of the Sea has a happy and romantic ending. After reading through the book, I have to say this is a great choice for the older Stilton fans.
