The Other Brother product reviews

Proud to promote NZ productsBertie McQuerty has three brilliant brothers. But Bertie isn't arty, or sporty, or clever. He's sick of being the other brother. What can he do that is brilliant?

Also available in Maori.

I always like reading books that have a message that will help them in life to my children. This book came at just the right time as I have one boy who is starting school in a couple of weeks and we had just had the talk with him about not following others but to be himself. This book holds that same message.

This book is the story of a little pig with brothers that all are brilliant at something. The little pig tries to be just like his brothers but finds he is not so great at the things his brothers can do. One day the teacher points out that he is the kind brother, something the little pig could be proud of. He realises he is brilliant at something. This was a book that my son could relate to being a brother. I could also relate to it as many a time in my schools years I was always reminded what my older sister could do. Yes there were times I did try to be just like her until I realised I was very different to her and had my own interests and strengths.

Although this book does not have a lot of rhyme reads aloud very well. I love how it is full of punctuation and expression. The writing is in larger print which means my son who is just learning to read can help with the reading where he can. The illustrations are fun and playful. Definitely a book that I am proud to read to my boys and will remind them to be the person they are and we as parents will support that.

Product image for HammerHeadsTHE THIRD WORLD WAR IS THE WAR AGAINST DRUGS

For the US Government it's a losing battle. The smugglers no longer shy from confrontation, they relish it - blowing Coast Guard jets out of the sky and sinking their cutters with powerful bazookas. They've become a co-ordinated force of devastating ruthlessness.

There's only one way to stop them.

The US anti-drug agents are a ... more...
