DC Comics - Secret Hero Society: Study Hall of Justice product reviews

Young Bruce Wayne is the new kid at Ducard Academy, a prep school for gifted high school students. Bruce finds out pretty quickly that he doesn't fit in: the faculty seems to not just encourage villainous behaviour from its students, but reward it. Bruce makes friends with two other outsiders, farm boy Clark Kent and the regal Diana Prince.

They soon discover that not only are the kids here special, they all seem super. The three band together to form a detective squad to find out why all of these extraordinary kids have been brought together at Ducard Academy, and to see just what the faculty is plotting. They'll try their best to solve the case, but just because you're heroic, it doesn't mean you get to stay up past eleven!

First of three original illustrated novels in series.

My boys are both huge fans of DC Comics so I knew I had to request this book and hope for an hour of silence. My hopes came true as soon as the parcel arrived. The book vanished almost as soon as I had taken a photo of my review products. A good sign!

I read the book while the boys were at school and impressed myself with my knowledge of the characters my boys would be proud! The story is quite a lovely one. The lay out of the book was a little bit tricky for me to follow but my eight year old said it was good and he had no problems so maybe it is just the way I perceived it to be. The book is set in a comic book style with lots of sketches, diagrams, plans and much more through out the book. The story is told from Bruce Waynes perspective and is definitely aimed at children. The actual story is simple and easy to follow just the comic images I found hard to follow but it seems Mr Eight had no trouble at all so perhaps it is just the fact I am not a comic book reader!

Living in a house with the 'King of the Nerds' any tool that I can get to aid me in my 'comic book world' knowledge is a godsend. Even my two young daughters know more about the Marvel and DC Universe than I do and they are both aware of who is dating who and who has dated who - crazy. So when I saw this book come up for review I knew I just had to have. As soon as my husband saw it he stole it away to read it first and then my eldest placed dibs on it as well. So I had to sneak it back today just in order to read it.

First of all it does not take very long to read at all. Maybe an hour tops. It is comic book form but with notes thrown in, school evaluations, posters, diagrams, plans thrown into the mix. It is a pretty cute story and I was surprised how many names I was actually aware of without the aid of the Halloween dress up party. It is told from Bruce Waynes prospect of starting a new school and he befriends Clark Kent (Superman) and Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) they all work out the school is a little weird and seems to be aiming more towards the bad side then being good so they try to stop it. definitely aimed at children so it is nice and simple to read and easy to follow.

I personally am not a fan of the graphics. I hate untidy comics and like my pictures to be sharp and clean. I could not tell by the pictures half the time who it was I was looking at and if they were happy or sad. I told my husband this and he found nothing wrong with it so I guess it comes down to your own personal preferance. I did not mind the story and I enjoy the way it is broken up and all over the place. A fun book for any superhero fans out there.
