For a product that is gluten, soy, dairy and peanut free the price is amazing. Usually food items that are needed for those with allergies or food intolerance's are over priced and not even that nice. We once spent $9 on a chocolate cake for a birthday only to have to bin it as it honestly was so dry and tasted like actual cardboard or paper Sad Icon. But for once a gluten free treat product is available at a price that you can be happy with and you do not have to worry that it is going to taste awful and end up in the bin Sad Icon

New Zealand Kettle Korn has a great range of popcorn available and as a kid one of my favorite foods was caramel corn, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on a bag of sea salt caramel corn. Sea salt or salted caramel is one of those big fads at the movement, that everyone is needing in their lives, whether its salted caramel latte, chocolate, ice-cream, cheesecake, pop corn...its a must have! I do not really see the big deal to be honest. Id probably be happier with salted chocolate lol But needless to say, its a big thing and people love it.

So we got some of this, and ya know what...i wish it didn't have the sea salt in it. I wish it was just good ole fashioned caramel corn. Don't get me wrong, this is good! BUT it could be better if ya just drop the sea salt. haha. I am just being picky. My kids loved it. My husband loved it and he is not a salted caramel person at all. the bag is a decent enough size that a family of 5 was able to share without anyone feeling like they were missed out. It is easy to open, and when you open you can smell the deliciousness and the popcorn is always super fresh too. All in all a great product, but Id still rather good ole fashion caramel corn.

As a lover of caramel corn, I often find that I have to make my own to achieve the optimum caramel taste, over the years I have tried several different brands of caramel corn on the market but often find them to be rather chewy and lacking in caramel flavour. Lately when it comes to buying pop corn that is ready made and in the bag I have been purchasing the Kettle Korn brand as I love the sweet and salty variety which they have and find it to be very well priced.

While at the supermarket a couple of days ago I went to buy me some Kettle Korn popcorn and with great excitement happened to stumble across Kettle Korn's brand spanking new product Sea Salt Caramel popcorn. Having tried many different salted caramel products, as this seems to be the new biggest flavour combination out, which despite the name actually tastes really good, I was looking forward to experiencing this flavour combination on some popcorn.

With my first taste of this popcorn I was in heaven, the popcorn was crisp and crunchy to the bite and had a lovely rich caramel flavour that just melts in your mouth, the hint of vanilla was definetely there and complemented the sweeetness of the caramel and the saltyness of the salt well. This popcorn was fantastic on it's own and went down well as we watched our family movie Madagascar. I loved the fact that it is gluten, soy, dairy and peanut free as it meant that my daughter who can't have to much dairy could enjoy it too, and as this was her first ever experience of caramel corn she loved it as a change to the plain popcorn I usually give her, though this will definitely be kept as a treat food.

With the remainder of the popcorn I decided to use it as a topping for some caramel cupcakes I had made, by drizzling some chocolate over the cupcakes and then quickly dipping them into the popcorn before the chocolate set, this worked well and tasted great and the popcorn even though exposed to the air seemed to keep its fantastic crunch and taste.

If your feeling like caramel corn I definitely recommend you try this one, you wont be dissapointed and definitely shouldn't be put off by the name!!!
