I like movies that play around with the idea of artificial intelligence. It gets the mind working with all of the ethical implications of creating life. It throws around all of the unquantifiable questions such as: what is life? Is it a brain capable of thought? Capable of lying? Capable of learning? Self aware? What is consciousness? I enjoy these films because there is really no answer to those questions. Just the variety in people opinions, which ultimately will always lead to conflict.

The main drawback to the film, is its brevity; at 91 minutes, there is very little time to provide the necessary time for a natural bond to occur, especially if love is meant to be the result. Moving from auditions, to hacking military databases, and then to murder all within a good 10-20 minutes, it feels rushed, and not like an environment conducive to romantic relationships. With many competing views for the correct use of the machine, I would have liked to have seen it more fleshed out, with a little more information provided, rather than a few quick flashbacks to combat training.

But it was overall an interesting film to watch. It did come to a terminator style climax, but otherwise provided an interesting insight to the potential pros and cons of sentient life forms.
