Weir's back and extra weird! Dad's working on his cool dance moves for the local talent quest, while Weir's trying out for the school soccer team! Will Weir score a spot, or fall flat? It won't be easy... but it will be funny! The side-splitting story of WeirDo continues - a weird kid with a weird name!

From looking at the cover, size and thickness of the book you would think WeirDo3 was a chapter book for capable readers. Although it is divided into chapters there are only one or two sentences on each page and I read it to Miss 6 and Miss 4.5 in on sitting. The kids loved it. It is probably aimed more at boys with the toilet humour and football but my girls laughed hysterically at all the farts and boogers.

The fact that it has illustrations on every page definitely helped to maintain my youngsters' interest. Since discovering that there are two more in this series (so far, but probably more to come) my girls are very keen to find them in the library for me to read to them although I am pretty sure my husband will enjoy reading it to them too.

The favourite page for us all was when you folded it along the dotted line to see James Nott picking his nose but opened out to see he had a the longest booger string. My girls were shocked to see me folding the page but were laughing when they saw the animation.

This would be a great book to get older reluctant readers hooked on reading again. There isn't a lot of words and they vocab isn't too tricky. I expect the average eight year old could read it by themselves. The content and the illustrations will be what captures them.

Product reviews for listing 9113: Nanas with no Manners -  Written by Justin Christopher and Minky Stapleton

Product image for Nanas with no MannersThere once were three nanas from the City of Seas
who ate nothing but chocolate nachos with cheese.

These nanas, who lived in the City of Seas,
NEVER said 'thank you' and NEVER said 'please'.

When these nanas go away on holiday, they find that the resort doesn't serve their favourite dish. Uh-oh! You'd better look out, as rude nanas become hungry nanas.

But will they ... more...
