Adventures with Daddy product reviews

Proud to promote NZ productsToday's a big day for Daddy and me.
There's so much to do and so much to see.

In this humorous book, a fun day out with Daddy is explored through the eyes of a small child. The simple, rhyming text is charmingly illustrated by Gabriella Klepatski.

Adventures with Daddy is a very lovely story that my children and carekids (ranging in age from 13 months to 5 years) love listening to as much as I love reading it. There is a rhyme to the words that helps with the children to join in and they were helping read it the second time they heard it. There is certainly no complaints when I suggest I read it.

The illustrations are very funny and as a parent I can relate to the silly things we do for our kids as well as the things that they do that spoil our plans. My eldest laughs every time on the page where the Daddy is swinging so high on the swing he falls off. For Miss 3.5 the laughter comes when Daddy gets honey in his hair and has to run into the pond to escape the bees.

One of the things I like best of all is that the story is all about a toddler and Daddy. There are no siblings, mother or grandparent. It is simply about a day spent together. This means that children with shared custody, no mum or from a nuclear family can relate to it. My girls talked about the places they like to go with Daddy and for them it is extra special when it is just Daddy (Mummy and sister are left behind).

When my husband read it to our two girls I could hear the love between the three of them and heard how he related the story back to their times together. It really was a magical thing to hear. It is safe to say this book is a hit in our household.

Oh my have you ever read a book and just thought wow this book is just made for us, well this book was it for me! I think it is one of my new favourite children's books and one of the best I have read in a while. I couldn't help but giggle as I read and thought yip that is my boy and his Dad too!

The book tells the funny story of a little boy and his dad's day of adventures, they are all just simple activities like reading a story, going to the park, feeding the ducks, playing in the sand pit and having a bath. I had to laugh at the little boy in the book eating the old bread that was meant for the ducks as that is what my son does everytime we go to the duck pond.

It is a perfect book for young children to share with their Dad's, in the book it is a little boy and his dad but it would still be just as enjoyable for a little girl. I know my son enjoys his special time with Dad and just like in the book when he has spent the day with Dad yes his bath water does turn green lol. But the most special time they have is story time and this will be a great story for them to read together and talk about their days adventures.
