Johnny, Johnny, Johnny... Of all the films starring Johnny Depp, this is the only one I have been unable to finish. This was a very drawn out, and very boring movie for me, that has nothing going for it at all. It has moments where it seems like it was trying for a laugh, but it just didn't happen. Giovanni Ribisi did a far better job in this movie than anyone else did in my opinion.

This movie doesn't really have much of a plot. Kemp (Johnny Depp) is an alcoholic who moves to Puerto Rico and takes a job at the islands newspaper as a journalist. Not long after he becomes interested in a local business man's wife, and keeps bumping into her when her husband asks Kemp to write a story on him, slanting him in a very good way. Kemp must decide if he is going to be honest or write the shady story for the shady character.
This apparently is based upon a novel of the same name, and is supposed to be more of a fly on the wall type story, with minimal plot, but it was just too minimal for me. I only managed to get about halfway through before giving up on the film, which isn't something that I do often. Ahh well.
