The Revelation of the Pyramids product reviews

The Revelation Of The Pyramids takes an in depth look into one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Mystery has surrounded these epic structures for centuries with theories varying from the scientific to the bizarre.

However with over thirty-seven years of in depth research taking in sites from China, Peru, Mexico and Egypt, one scientist has as at last managed first to understand and then to reveal what lies behind this greatest of archaeological mysteries: a message of paramount importance for all mankind, through time and space.

The great stone structures in Egypt have long puzzled us all... as too have many of the ancient structures we find all over the world. But never before have I seen evidence presented quite as compelling as this, that some bigger picture is involved. The human brain has - by design or by evolutionary force - developed a sense of 'pattern'... a way to find underlying order amongst apparent chaos. Stare at the static on a TV screen long enough and you won't be able to avoid spotting patterns, areas where there is suddenly more black or white than random chance would imply. But you see, TRUE chaos, true randomness has room in it for brief patches of order, through no outside influence. This could be how the first strands of 'life' popped up out of the chemical goo that was the early Earth, if the Evolutionist viewpoint is one you subscribe to.

However, coincidence really only makes sense if it's in very small doses. If enough coincidences pile up, it starts to look awfully like a plan in action... and that's what the people behind this documentary have seen. So many ancient structures all lined up on the face of the earth in a statistically-improbable manner, forming pathways and trails that no land-bound denizen could possibly have made to such accuracy, scattered across time as well as space, with mathematical precision we would think far beyond a 'primitive' culture... so is there, in fact, some clear evidence that history as we write it may in fact be wrong, and the flights of fantasy are possibly closer to the real truth?

Until someone invents time-travel, thus possibly creating the very events being searched for, we will never really know. But this documentary isn't just a consoiracy-theorists wet dream, it also debunks some of the theories put forth. Are there heiroglyphs in a tomb in Egypt that show an Apache attack helicopter, an armoured tank, and other modern devices and weapons? Or is it just the result of two sets of names being carved into the same stone, the first being plastered over so that the new can supercede it, and these new shapes forming as some of the weaker plaster deposits fall lose creating holes where none should have been, thus shapes never designed or dreamed of in their original era? Applu Occam's Razor to it, and the latter theory hold far more strength for me at least... but there are still so many more theories to other matters that can't be explained without giving the more fantastical theories some credence.

This is not a short doco, but nor does it drag on and waffle. It carries information on many levels at all times, and is one I had to watch twice before I felt confident in even drafting notes for this review, and a third before I felt I had some fair understanding of the information it was trying to impart... so by all means hire this one out if you are curious... but if you find yourself actually thinking through some of the ideas, go out and buy it. Find a quiet evening with few distractions and sit through it again. Then think some more, and watch it again the next night. It took me 7 viewings before I felt I had a solid grasp on it.

Overall, a most thought-provoking title, and one I am dearly glad to have on hand for my sons to watch. Perhaps, by the time they are ready for this kind of thing new evidence will have come to light and will add to this, or debunk some of it, leaving a more refined set of theories. I look forward to finding out what the future brings on this front, because it both fascinates and terrifies me to think what may be coming back to check up on, or just revisit us.
