Earthworm Jim - The Complete Series product reviews

Starring Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson!

Jim was just your average Earthworm until he stumbled upon a Super-Suit that evolved him, giving him super-strength! But the forces of evil, Psy-crow, Professor Monkey-for-a-head, Queen Slug-for-a-butt and Evil-the-Cat are relentless in their quest to reclaim the suit and rule/destroy/freeze/knock over the universe!

He now fights evil with his sidekick Peter Puppy and his lady-friend and love-interest Princess What's-Her-Name.

OK, yes... this is a very silly series... it makes me think of others in the same vein, like "The Animaniacs" or a more toned down "Ren & Stimpy" - and yet, for all it's silliness and utterly groanworthy jokes... it's still entertaining for those with a slightly abstract sense of humour.

Entirely American in nature and feel, there is little more to the punchlines than what slaps you in the face... hardly much in the way of subtle Brit-Wit... and again, this will make it far more appealing to some than others. This is in no way a condemnation of that facet of the show - more a friendly reminder not to push play and expect anything multi-layered, subtle, intellectual or witty... it's downright, in-ya-face slapstick in true American Surreal style.

Overall, if nothing else, it's pretty darned good value for money at around $8 a disc, and it'll keep the kids entertained and out from under your feet for a few hours on a cold, miserable day - which makes it excellent value for money in my books. ;) It certainly has it's charms, despite being quite dated by today's standards... after all, this hit the TV screens back in 1995! Just keep that in mind.

Product image for Dino Dan: Volume 4 - Active ImaginationIn Dino Dan, 10-year-old Dan Henderson (Jason Spevack) - nicknamed 'Dino Dan' by his friends - is an ordinary boy with an extraordinary obsession: he eats, sleeps and breathes dinosaurs. A typical day for Dan isn't complete unless he's racing a T-Rex on his school track, finding a Pterodactyls in his attic or getting a baby Brachiosaurus back to its mum.

However, while Dino Dan is an expert in dinosaurs, he also ... more...
