The Box Office Cafe is one of my favourite places to dine. I have been there a number of times, for lunch, dinner, coffee and a Jazz night. The Box Office has Jazz nights every Wednesday, featuring local bands.

Now onto the food. Absolutely exceptional, cannot fault it. I have sampled a wide range of their menu. More recently I tried the crispy beef salad. It was a delight - I highly recommend this dish. Beautiful presentation also. Box Office has a wide range of desserts - if you are a cheesecake lover then this place is for you.

Only downside to the Box Office I have found is their coffee. It was burnt on one occasion, and they do not use the correct milk frothing technique. Drinks are also highly overpriced - charging $5.00 for a can of red bull, and $3.00 for a bottle of coke. However, food is very fairly priced.

Well done, Box Office.

Earlier this week I took myself off to town for a pre-movie meal with family, the idea was floated that we go to Box Office. Having been into the previous restaurant in this location, I was eager to see if the trend would continue when the name changed. It did, and then some.

The young lady who met us as we approached the bar was courteous, friendly and welcoming, assisting us in finding an appropriate and comfortable place to sit. After settling us at our table, our waitress gave us time to look over the menu. Feeling exceptionally spoiled for choice, there was a lot of discussion amongst ourselves as to what to have. Surprisingly, the end choice for two of us being chicken.

Once the order was taken, the next decision was what we woiuld like to drink. again our server was very helpful in making this selection, and we settled down with a glass of very nice red, to await our meal. The time between our order being taken and having the freshly prepared food in front of us seemed to all of us, to be just right. When the meal arrived however, I was a little taken aback at the portion in front of me, as I was particularly hungry and it seemed to me to be a rather small portion..

I was soon to find out how wrong one person can be. I was VERY pleasantly surprised, both at the amount the portion actually contained, and the flavours the meal contained. Both the chicken and the fettucine were cooked to perfection, and was topped off with a light, flavourful sauce, overall i would have to say, this was some of the best Chicken Fettucine I had enjoyed in quite a long time. Conversation quickly progressed from first impressions of our repective meals, (Chicken and sweet banana Curry and deep fried camembert), through covetous glances at each others selections, and listening to mouthwatering descriptions of the first few mouthfuls, to what felt like complete, and grateful, focus on the task at hand

Once this wonderful meal was complete, no one felt able to contemplate desert, so all opted for a final coffee to finish off, prior to setting off for the movie, I must admit here to general feelings of disapointment with the coffee. However. the general consensus was that the coffee contained to much milk, weakening the flavours. It was a real disapoinbtment after the wonderful meal we had all partaken of, However, even allowing for that disappointment - the overall vote of all concerned, was that the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and I would gladly go back.
