I really enjoyed this flavour, I oven baked them, it did take longer than what was stated on package, which was fine.

I really like the chicken flavour but wasn't so keen on the vegies inside, but all in all they were nice.

I would buy them again as a pre-snack for having people over, they are a nice little treat, which people seem to really enjoy, I had to eat mine pack really quickly as I had 2 boarders hovering over mine pinching them lol.

these were my utter favourite. after trying the rest of the flavours available this one came out on top for me. i had some family over for lunch and cooked up three packs of these as a soup and everyone agreed the flavour was perfect. the chicken gave the dumpling plenty of body and bite but the flavour was strongly prawn which we all loved. so easy to cook when you follow the directions. though i love asian food i can see why the more european preferences wouldnt go for them as they can look a bit unappealing on their own but if you do them in a nice soup with just a touch of curry to add colour they dont look anywhere near as bad. you could also boil them with a few stamens of saffron if you want to add colour without flavour. i have already gone out and bought a decent stack of these and dumplings are now the most numerous item in my freezer.

This was a new flavour for me, as I havent tried seafood in a dumpling before. At least I dont recall ever being told so at least. On top of that I have to admit my usual experiences of Asian-inspired foods is usually restricted to a $10 container of smorgasbord beef, noodles and veges at the local chippie.
I was actually quite impressed at how well they turned out after going through the 'hot oil torture' in the mini-fryer, though it was more that the flavour stayed so strong yet delicate.
I could easily taste the prawn coming through, it was in no way drowned out by the chicken, which still managed to hold its own against the veges too. Even the youngest of the kids at the gathering were wolfing them down like they were candy.
All in all these were a real hit with everyone, to the point where I was "requested" to go back to the supermarket and buy 6 more bags before the night was out.

I chose to have a panel for this review and guess what, they all agreed with me. Out of 10, only one didn't list this as their favorite.

I cooked them under the 'pan fried' choice but i found they took longer than 5 mins but were worth waiting for. I personally didnt like the idea of boiling them and making them into a soup or serving one pasta type product with another.

For me, who doesn't typically like seafood or prawns, this was actually a great way to eat it and get the nutritional value of it without the taste.

This time around I thought I would try a different preparation technique... like doing the totally un-Manly thing and following the instructions properly. Wink Icon

Carefully reading the directions for Pan Frying the dumplings, I followed them step by step... and though they took a bit longer than the 5 minutes stated on the pack, they were well worth the wait. Though I have never really been a fan of much in the way of seafood, beyond the typical bit of crumbed or battered fish with my chips, I found the taste of the prawn to be strong enough to taste, yet subtle enough to allow the chicken to peek through as well.

What really impressed me was that these dumplings even tasted pretty good 2 hours later after the leftovers had gone cold, and went very well with a mustard pickle dipping sauce too. I have not come across many foods like this that can retain any semblance of edibility after being allowed to cool. A remarkable testament to the quality of the ingredients.

Overall, surprisingly this may become a staple content of our chest freezer, for those on-the-spot meals when we need a main ingredient for a plated meal, or finger-food for guest occasions. I think these would go down well with almost any non-vegetarian consumer. I would love to try them with some of the Dumpling Sauces and spice flavourings that are made by this company... I just need to find them first.
